Help!

Hey I got my DM500s late last year and it's been working with all the Aurora channes with no problem until about 24 hours ago when it stopped decoding the channels. I only can get NITV, aljazeerz and a few ABC channels.

Please how do I fix this to get all the channels again?

They have done a emk roll so your keys are probably dead. You will not get it working again without new working details.

That only works if you can get a antanna dude to write you are unable to access any t.v. in your area.

A Software update would fix this yes? How do I do that?

you need to find someone who can replace the keys files in /var/etc/keys in your dreambox with working ones.

Not me...don't even think about it.

Just to make it quite clear to you Charm3d, last year I sold you a satellite decoder box, a DM500S. I did not sell you any keys. Some images had working keys programed into them. If they worked for a while, then great.

Of course its the providers prerogative to roll those keys when they wish.


You said on the phone you have a friend with an older working optus aurora card. Your going to need a card programmer & extract those details, or extract them from a working 'goldie' and edit them into the softcam.keys file in VAR/ETC.

After all, a dreambox is all about learning & experimenting and enjoy satellite TV as a hobby. They are not really the box of choice for those who 'just want to watch TV'

And just like z80 above, no, sorry. I can not help you with a set of details.


Another option is to turn the dish to Optus D1 (although dish alignment can prove to be a difficult and frustrating experience for 'newbies')

Note that Optus D1 does not have GWN, WIN, 7Central etc, but it has all the ABC's & SBS's FTA.....

i legally purchased mine - legally did my own emails
you do need to declare how bad reception is in your area
and I aint no satellite dude.

I can say that it is a cheap way to get good tv reception.

Foxtel is such crap that my missus only watches our legit aurora card anyway.

Don't know why I bother with our foxtel sub really...it's crap.

Gotta agree there. Only good thing foxtel sub is for is channels 7, 9 and 10

Yep... apart from say LIVE sports, watching Pay TV in Australia is like watching one big hard drive full of stored files. After you have seen them 3 or 4 times, you get pretty bored with the whole experience
Even thier so called Box Office is 6 months to a year behind what you will find on the net for free.....

And Cham3d, with a post heading of HELP!!!! and a follow up post requesting help.... You could of clearly just helped yourself by spending 5 seconds in the Search function or just looking at the many current threads already discussing the issue
