    FastActivate update April 01. 2013
    Easy, Fast and Reliable

    Instructions:
    1. Plug your tomtom device with the USB to your PC or use card reader

    2. Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your TomTom device internal or SD-Card ROOT directory (recommended) or desktop or any other place

    3. Run "FastActivate.exe"

    4. Use menu buttons what you need see menu items help.

    5. Done...
    Menu items:
    1. Update meta.txt
Update latest meta.txt. (if servers are not down) You need to allow wget.exe in your firewall if asked.

If you have a new meta code which is not in the integrated or updated meta.txt (See in program for date of current integrated meta.txt) then you must put all new meta codes in a file named META.TXT and copy it to the Device/SD-Card ROOT Directory or keep it in the same directory as FastActivate.exe.

    2. Patch Maps, Voices, Speedcams and Fuel Prices
Patch ALL these in your device.
If you get a ".dct ERROR" message, it usually means the meta has not been released.

    3. Patch Navcore (ttsystem or PNDNavigator)
Patch Your Navcore with this which is needed to use patched maps. Wait and it will tell you when done.

    4. Patch TomTom HOME
This works automatically and there is no need to search for any files, just wait and it will tell you when done.
If you use this you first need to use TomTom HOME "Operate my Device" option; this will download your profile files; then close HOME and patch it.

    5. RunMeForCode (Create a meta/blowfish code from genuine map)
You can create meta code with this button...you have to be the original owner of the map.
Remember... meta data does NOT contain any personal information from you or your device. It is safe to share.

    6. Update QuickGPSfix (Fix your GPS position)
Your TomTom device uses the signals of at least 4 satellites to find out where you are. To start navigating, it needs to know exactly where each satellite is.
So start your journey faster with TomTom QuickGPSfix button

    7. My Device Info
This is just info from your device which others need if you ask for help (on most forums).
    Notes:
    Note 1:
If you get trouble running the .exe then "right click and run as administrator" If you use Wince and mapshare p a t c h copy ttnavigator.bif to ttgo.ori

    Note 2:
If you are doing a fresh install on internal memory of navcore and map then you will need to restart the unit once after the installation of navcore
Before you try and patch the map because your unit will then generate the needed ttgo.bif file for the keygen to read. Also if you are installing to a sd card rather than the internal memory the same applies you will need to insert the sd card into the tomtom device and reboot before you patch the map so it generates the needed ttgo.bif file.

    Note 3:
Program works with TomTom PC emulator.

Just obtained a TT One 3rd edition and have done all the updates via TT Home and it now has App V 8010 and under that it says 9369. Assume the navcore is 8010.
It was 7130 so well out of date. The map just says New Zealand and even TT Home can't tell me what V that map is. I have also installed V900 Map that I have a working meta
for but even after Fastactivation the unit can't see it. I don't have an icon under "Change " to tell me what it has installed so can't check that there either.
It has NO Sd card. Would it be better to follow your instructions lemonfish, and delete everything and start from scratch again? Thanks for any help
Was going to start a new thread but have forgotten how to do that, and can't see where you do......going mad in my old age

Why not use a current 910 map?
If there is no map to see on the device you have two causes:
    a) the map files are in the wrong place, like in a subfolder
    b) the map is incomplete

You can delete the currentmap.dat, after that the TT will offer you all maps that are correctly installed,
but after updating through Home you also need to patch the Navcore.
The map is activated if a .dct file with the name of the map is present inside the map folder.

Firstly can't use the 910 map as no Meta available. Only NZ map meta available is 900 which I have added to the unit. There is an original map, as i said, labeled just New Zealand and cannot see what version that is. It works ok. The 900 has a .dct file so is activated. Have also patched the navcore which was updated by Tom Tom Home.
Usually when adding another map you get the option to "switch" maps but there is only the one map showing on the unit so that's not possible. Also no icon option to see which map I have (the original I assume, not the 900)
Just ran Fastactivate again and still only the one map available. Info on fastactivate says the current map is 710.1568 (very old) and thenit lists the 900 as there but the unit does not show it when you go "switch maps" only the one there.

Nice, but does not help to solve the problem...

1.Both maps...original and the 900 in the root directory
2.900 is same map I use on my TomTom One new edition. This one is the One 3rd Edition.
    Old Map: New_Zealand-6.meta.dct
    900 Map: New_Zealand-665.meta.dct
So that indicates to me both maps are patched. Yet when going to "manage maps" only one is showing. Originally on my TT One new edition both would be showing.
Deleted the Currentmap.dat and ran TT Home and it didn't offer me any maps that were installed. The Currentmap.dat has not been reinstalled, suppose that is due to TT Home not offering maps.
Just to add to the confusion I have also obtained a TT XL and the same thing has happpened with that. Maybe I should try an earlier map version but don't see why when the 900 works Ok my New Edition.
Just for good measure I added an Australian map I have...905...and Fastactivate patched it ok and shows a .dct file so is activated, but that also does not show in the "switch Map"option so cannot use it. This is weared. maybe I need to start from scratch with a new Navcore???
    Thanks for your help.

Did you restart the TT after deleting the currentmap.dat?
Asking as the TT actually creates that file after you selected a map.
And do yourself a favour and forget about testing anything using Home
If after a fresh start you still can't select the map you can always try one of my V9 NC's with memory boost.
Not only can you use full featured maps with them, you will also get a few more features to play with and a better looking map.

     /mnt/sdcard/New_Zealand/ (copy of the currentmap.dat)
Yes I did and just noticed the file....I don't have an sdcard so not sure why it says that.
I am using one of your V9 NC's on another tomtom new edition I have and it works very well. Since buying this new computer I don't have a copy of it anymore. Can you give me a link to download the one you recommend for this One xl and the one 3rd edition. Thanks. I remember the one with your navcore does show all maps installed so no doubt this is the problem
Appreciate your help and look forward to the link to change these other two units.

It is normal that the files refers to /sdcard/ - this how the file system is handled on Linux.
Some Navcores: , , or the classic
Not that they are really hard to find...

Kaygill, sorry for the late reply. I see the Master has been helping you with instructions, so you're in good hands there!

To answer your original question, yes I would definitely do a clean install. Simply follow the clean install instructions and instead of steps 4 & 5, copy across a navcore suited to your model, then proceed with the rest of the tutorial. As well as the navcores uploaded by Downunder, I've had good feedback for navcores 9.061 and 9.170 SE for ONE models. If you want to try these, you can download them from the following threads:

    Clean install tutorial is below:

Remember, leave out steps 4 & 5 only if installing a different navcore other than the official one.

Great Tnx Downunder, Have just installed the 9450 on the Xl, copied the maps over from the backup I did and away it went after patching maps. Both maps are now showing so everything is great.
About to do the One 3rd Ed. I have and that will fix them both.
Much appreciate your help with what I was struggling with.

Just as a trial I added the Android Map of NZ 905, which there was a meta available and it switches to that one ok and seems to work. Have not been out on the road as yet but looks like it will be ok....Do you have any thoughts on that?

No reason why it shouldn't work normally, just as you've discovered, since the meta is available.
If the v910 New Zealand android map becomes available with meta, that map can also be used with your TomTom device.
