Note the above compatibility chart includes various versions of maps which are not yet available, such as Australia_870.3403 - the basic map which is for any navcore 7.9x or higher and for PDA or WinCE devices. The 870.3403 replaces the 865.3246 map.

The preferred map is 870.3406 which is the full featured IQ map. It requires navcore version 8.2x or higher. The 870.3406 replaces the 865.3245 map.

A minor correction... Actually the 870.3391 map replaces the 865.3246 map - the basic map. It will be uploaded when available.

Why is the preferred map 870.3406 rather than 87.3405 which supports house numbers according to the compatability chart?

Going by previous Australia maps and features, TomTom won't even make a 870.3405 Australia map. In the past they have only released 3 types of Australia maps - one IQ map, one basic map, and another IQ map without Cspeech and ASR.

So the Australia maps I expect to be released are:

Australia_870.3406 - full featured IQ map (already released)
    Australia_870.3391 - basic map
    Australia_870.3402 - IQ map without Cspeech/ASR
    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

Just got the New Zealand 870.3402 down, but it doesn't seem to work on two of my navcores....an 7.903 or 8.? or a 9.058 (sorry not sure which 8 one it is)
Have also now downloaded the other two..870.3403 and 870.3413. which are all listed as NZ versions. However can't get any of them to be recognized by the GPS or TomTom Home.
    Thanks

Thanks for that, I had assumed that the compatability chart refered to released maps. 870.3406 seems to work fine for me.

I have a tomtom go910, navcore 7.903. I installed the Australia 870.3391 map and patched the same way as the 865 map. The device recognises the map. When I go to choose it the device just freezes and does not respond so I went back to the 865 map. Do you know how to patch the 870 map on my device.

Try deleting mapsettings.cfg in the new version map folder (after backing it up of course)
This is where all your favorites etc are stored. Sometimes the files are not comatible between updates.

Tried that but still didn't work. I realised the 870 map was missing a few files as in the 865 map. I copied them over and now it is working like a charm.
    Thanks anyway
