    Default Cap value?

Guys, I have a ceramic cap marked 22
Can someone tell me the value of the cap?
Shouldn't it be marked with 3 numbers?

I agree with Mysterex, and unless it's super old school - they should be a comparatable physical size too

If a 22pF 5% cap adhered strictly to IEC coding it would be 220K.

Capacitors with a value below .001µF are simply expressed in picofarads.

22p is more common in VHF.
2p2 would be UHF unless in a low Z application.

I have a whole box of older(more than 10years) ceramic caps with just two digits.
    They are all picofarad values.

    22pf or as a lot understand more easily .000022uf 22 x 10_6 (0.000001)

They leave the 3rd digit off because some people would confuse it with 220pf , the 3rd digit is the multiplier so 0 or nothing means the same thing so better to leave it off .

Oscar it's out of an old phoenix programmer I built a few years ago.
I was looking for a 2.2nF in my junk box ... I want a discriminator tap put in an old scanner so I can decode data.

No I only have a multimeter .. it's no big deal I just didn't want to go to Dick Smiths to buy one capacitor.
