Default Dream D500, Security and safety??

    Hello austech members,

This is my first post. I found this website through google and I am very glad that you are offering this service to help people.

My question is, my friend offered me to share his foxtel with me. So I would be the client and my friend is the main server. He asked me that he needs to connect my rounter as a client to his server.

Is it safe to do so? Will my network be monitored by him and get hacked some how?

Please I need your opinion regarding my network security? (just for knowledge)...

    Your help is greatly appreciated

    KInd Regards..

not really, he may have firewalls in place blocking incoming connections and needing to add this client to the allowed list.

I dont see why your mate would be under handed and wanting to hack your network, unless of course you have something worth wanting?
Im guessing you have misunderstood him by when you say he wants access to your router?
Just ask him!! , he is a mate yea????
But im thinking its a pay server and not a mate if you have come here to ask instead of him lol
    where is my tinfoil hat?
