It hasn't been released because the series record had a bug. It should be fixed in the next release.

You get it by mailing your supplier and asking for it.

    "firmware with series record support"

I do have it but agreed not post it or link it as they have had trouble with customers messing up their receivers loading Firmwares that are for other countrys.

In system information , Frequency Area it should say New Zealand..

I've not actually used the series record function yet. But while playing with streaming the other day did have a freezeup that resulted in a program i had scheduled to record on the timer disappearing.

I would like to see live streaming ie DLNA Server of current channel so I/wife can watch in another room on XBMC or other Media player while say having dinner etc.
Used to do this on DM500, hopefully can do on 900HD soon too

    Where can you 'request' features??

okay, maybe I have been lucky as series record has worked fine for me so far. Of course I have a basic unit, no additional cards installed so that might make a difference

Ok, silly question guys. In regard to the newer MCAS etc from march (not the newest one that has the series record that hasn't been released yet).
Has this update fixed the huge problem of the picture freezing at least once a minute?? I'm still running the Nov11 Firmware and that MCAS and my pictures are starting to freeze up a LOT more and it's starting to frustrate myself and others who use the box to watch TV. I'm hoping there's a fix otherwise it ends up being a very expensive terrestrial only PVR.
It didn't happen that much before, but in the last month or so, it's gotten a lot more frequent. Do others have these issues too??

Sorry about the annoying question, but I get quite confused with all these releases and don't know exactly which one to use.

Plus, is updating the box with the latest firmware going to stuff all my channels around? I have them all in a specific order (which took a long time to do) and I don't want to lose that order.

    Thanks in advance.

    A frustrated mrtw.

Hi, Youj're confusing the plugin and the firmware. I would delete all your plugins and load the latest firmware (so a Reset to Factory Defaults after this is done) and then load the MCAS plugin from Nov which is all in the first post of this thread. Once you've loaded these, go into the plugin menu and select MCAS and make sure it's set to Auto and Started. Now highlight and press OK on the remote and select Configuration. In here change the reset sequence to T14 -T0 and then exit all the way out.
    Now insert your card.

    Cheers,
    Leroy

Thanks for that info Leroy.. The MCAS I'm currently running is the one from November and that's the one that is causing all the frustration at the moment with the pixelated screen/freezing every min or so. It's been set as above with the setting T14 - T0.
None of that has changed since I set it up ages ago.
I gather that it's the MCAS plugin that is the thing that allows us to view the pics?

Everything else on the box works perfectly so I'm happy with the firmware that's on it but it's just the picture problem which must be the MCAS.
If there's no new MCAS plugin, I'm guessing we just have to persevere with the current one.
Gee I hate these stupid 5 series crapstar cards. Why do they have to make it so difficult.

Thanks for the help though mate. Much appreciated.

I will still do a firmware upgrade following the proceedure mentioned above. Those Austar cards do work.

I recently purchased a UltraPlus 900HD in order to watch Au$tar channels, it works quite well however am having similar problems to this thread...

    1. If I leave it on a single channel overnight, and attempt to change it will freeze up the STB requiring a power down and reboot.
    2. I would like to disable the STB EIT (I am running it through MythTV which already has EIT through shepherd) as I heard this may help with my issues
    3. Other random times (I think twice a day) the channels will come up with "Scrambled Service" or lockup requiring a power down and power on.

I "could" setup a dirty solution having MythTV send the power down IR code, then power up IR code, then wait 30 seconds, then start recording.... But it would be GREAT if it would "just work".

    Hardware details below:

    Model: 900HD miCro PVR
Frequency Area: NEW ZEALAND (Don't know why this is, I am in Australia)
    Loader Version: L 6.20
    H/W Version: HS 7810A 1.00
    Application Version: HS v2.10.29
API Version: API Mar 22 2012
    Data Version: FDU v1.3

    Plugins:

    Mcas - Started - Auto - Build Date: Nov 22 2011

    Thanks,

    -rF

Here is a new version of MCAS 17.04.2012 which works OK on my 900HD and is worth a try.

Is it working with a red 5.3/5.4 austar card?

Just trying a 5.4 card now and found it does start and stop. My 4.1 card works good.

4.1 cards seem to work with all MCAS versions but the Nov 22 MCAS is the one for 5.3/5.4 Austar cards.

Go into the plugins menu and make sure MCAS is set to Auto and Started. Highlight and press OK and there is another menu and there will be an option that says Smart Card 1 or 2 depending on how many slots you have. You'll see the card version and info there.

I replied to the tread you started earlier instead of this thread.

When you select MCAS to go into it's menus, the date/version is in the lower right hand side of the screen. What is it pls?
