Then do your upgrade, if done still should be there, remember one p/c has to be registered
    Hello
I loaded those 2 dns adresses into router 111.118.xxx.xx and 118.127.xx.xx.
Couple of things in status in the billiopn is your "IP Address" different to "Primary DNS"???
And when you say "one p/c has to be registered"
Is that by the unblock-us2.7 software or just going to web site and doing the check status (enter email) which comes up as "your trial is active"

You will need a US PSN account. Once verified go to playstore & install Netflix or Hulu. Don't forget unblock US must be running.
As mentioned playon tv is another alternative but not sure about compatabilty with unblock US. Some people claim they don't get all the channels.

For the more capable linux user I spotted which lets you filter traffic via iptables through a socks proxy. This lets me direct all traffic from a device that doesnt support a socks proxy (wdtv live/wii etc) over my ssh tunnel.

Why do I prefer this over a VPN service? Well I already have a US VPS and don't need to pay for another service. A SSH tunnel doesn't care if your ISP is using a transparent proxy.

It's not for everyone and requires some iptables experience.

As for Netflix, I found it very underwhelming with an over simplified interface (how about search by date and not sift through genres) and a lack of new and good content. I guess it's not for me, but I do like Hulu, too bad hulu+ has ads.

Aanet/Eftel I'd say, their proxy issues are legendary on Whirlpool. But you can ask to be taken off it so he should be ok.

    Correct eftel
Rang them today and asked to be shift my connection to a non proxy server and the tech seemed to be confident in shifting or bypassing it.
So will see if it happens and how long it takes as they can be very slow to fix problems.
    Cheers
    Blade

Makebe we need a sticky to list providers that do and dont work.
I can confirm eftel dont work.

There shouldnt be too many with this problem. Aanet/Eftel are well know for this, I cant remember the specifics, but using a proxy saves them money/bandwidth. There have been complaints on Whirlpool for years about this, the advice has always been to contact them and they will remove you form it if it causes any issues.

    Great find and Instructions Sanity.

Hulu works perfectly on my Macbook Pro laptop tethered to my phone for interent connection, amazing, no sign up, no nothing, just change my DNS using Unblock US and it was all done in under 1 minute.

    The library is extensive!!!!

I can only imagine how good this is via WDTV Live Hub or PS3, sound system and 50" display.

And perhaps a bit more monthly download than the 5Gig my phone has.
But for the purpose of the experiment, it all worked perfect, it didn't even buffer once playing started.

Wonder if this can be done directly on a 3G device like Iphone or Ipad.... better try it out

Looks good with a WD Live receiver, AV HDMI amp and 60 inch plasma

I have upped my broadband plan to 500 gig a month as 200 is going to be just a touch to small. I think you would need around 300 gig a month to use these services reguarly. I seem to use on average around 8 gig a day.

I havent had a play using my phone, might have to put that one on the list as well

IT sure is a sign of things to come.
I was impressed enough with the online content when playing with the WD Live and Samsung Networked TV a few years back.... iView and Bigpond and some of the American ones too.

But i am staggered at the openness and accessibility of Hulu... almost anything you wish to watch is there and totally free, add Netflix, Hulu + and a few that weirdo mentioned and you'll never watch normal TV again.

After another 5 years or faster and cheaper ADSL... it will be crazy
I can see it invading the mobile internet market big time.

Yep, I think you are spot on with what you are saying.

It wasnt that long ago that streaming technology was at the point that a very good broadband connection was required. Now we are at the point that I can watch HD video on ADSL1 on a rim !

It will definitely boom when people start to realise how simple it is, and also when the NBN faster speeds provide more accessibility to people.

I have purchased a Roku receiver which I should have in a couple of days. I was going to buy a second WD so my missus can watch movies in the other room, but thought I would go with something different. The Roku is very popular in the US.

That tiny little Roku unit looks amazing!!!
Just to add, a friend on mine has a Boxee Box and is also very happy with it.

But for dedicated TV streaming, that Roku unit looks the business

Great Android and Iphone remote apps too.... and Angry Birds...
Man, they sure knew how to market this puppy.... Movies for Mum, Sports for Dad and Angry Birds for the kids!

Look out Foxtel and Austar... This emerging market is going to hurt you.

Must look to see if a similar product is available for the UK market and subsequent UK programming
