    Default Ness D Series

    Hi Guys,

I have a Ness System with one hardwired PIR and the rest are wireless reeds.

Unlike the Wired PIR, when a door with a wireless reed is left open the zone dosen't stay unsealed on the codepad - when arming it dosen't warn me the door/window isn't closed.

I've read the manual, but can't figure out how to set it to show open/closed zones?

It's all in the way you program the reed in.

Most ness panels are pretty generic in programming, so try this

Once in programming, get the reed you want, eg zone 2 and hold the reed and magnet APART.

Enter PO2E 1E then CLOSE the magnet to the reed, the panel should give you 3 confirmation beeps, the ready light should go off and the armed light should come on. The memory light should come on now indicating the reed sends restorals. If the supervised signals have also been received the tamper light will come on.

You will most probably have to delete the radio device first as it just won't learn in over the top, to delete

P02 (zone 2) 0E three beeps will be heard,

    P01 zone 1, P03 zone 3 etc etc

    So, i've tried

    - Programming the Reed. Then pushing "restoring device"
    - Programming the reed by opening and closing....

Still dosen't show on the LCD when the reed/window's been left open?

can you let us know what type of ness panel it is? Are you programming from programming mode, ie, P MASTER CODE E P INSTALLER CODE E or is it an option straight from the navigator KP. It's been a while since i've used the navigator

    Default Ness D8

I'm currently running a Ness D8 System with PCB Version 7.4

I'm accessing programming by P master code E and then P installer code E

    Then entering through P101E

PM me your email address and I'll send you the install manual, your on the right track but the trick is to learn the reed by closing the magent onto the reed when required.

    Default Wireless

I am sure this is more to do with "sleep" mode of the wireless reed, to conserve battery power.??
Can you can get constant instant responses from a Ness wireless reed. ??
Or the signal strength may be a factor?

    Default .

The reed works fine when the system is armed, and the signal strength is 5-8

I cant get any of my reed to display the open closed status
