    Never owned a DM500HD myself, only DM500 so not sure if they have the same external power supply. These power supply units can stuff up quite easily on the DM500 so if yours is similar might be worth trying another?
    Well this is long story, i fixed this box for some one else, flashed etc all fine, yesterday he had some problem, told me the box when turned on, does not turn on it hangs, got the box tested few times, i was thinking maybe the image is the problem installed other image update all good, after hour or something box does not boot, now could not connect with dream up or browser, this is what i get from Hyper Terminal:

    Second stage loader wasn't found. Don't panic - it's not a (real) problem.
    You don't need to repair your Dreambox. It just means that the flashrom with
    the graphical menu was erased. You can restore this with a tool like DreamUp
    with serial access.

    Some of the others might be able to help you with this problem
    Just checked the DM500HD online and notice they have an inbuilt powersupply.
    Might be worth while checking if all the caps are ok on that side of things. Look for bulging caps

    lol, sure mate
    caps = capacitor
    these capacitors can fail over time and bulge (appear swollen) which is usually a telltale sign that they are faulty
    bu they don't always necessarily look bulged if they fail, it's just an easy way to try and diagnose
    see some examples here >
    so take the cover off again and see if you can see any capacitors that look 'bloated' or 'bulged' or 'fatter than usual'
    next thing you could try is to measure the voltages from the power supply circuit board to the main board to see if they are what they are supposed to be
    quite often the voltages are printed next to the connector

    Managed to turn the box on yesterday, Installed Second Stage, Image, checked with Hyper Terminal all fine, checked the power supply all good 12V, turned the box of in the evening, try to turn box on today, blinking and not turning on after little going of, i left for few minutes like that switched on of it come back, now it is working fine, THE PROBLEM NOW IS THE BOX DOES NOT TURN ON AS IT SHOULD BE, NEED TO LEAVE THE BOX FEW MINUTES, i asked many people about this they told me, THIS MAYBE BAD CAPACITORS PROBLEM THEY HAVE LOST POWER LET SAY FROM 1000...TO 800 ...., SO THEY NEED TIME TO GET ALL THE POWER, DOES ANY ONE HAS ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS?????, I JUST LIKE TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM, THANKS FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
