Default problem with an old C&K security system - can anyone help?

We have an old (1990s) C&K security system with no model no or user manual. For the second time now, following a power outage the sensors are beeping when activated even though the alarm is not on. The trouble light is also flashing . Last time this happened I found a fantastic guy in Melbourne who gave me a code to put in which resolved the issue, but unfortunately I have lost his details.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    You can try the following:

Resetting the system by: Shift > 1 > Enter or * > 1 > # (Depending on your keypad model)
    Now try * > 5 > #

If the above does not work I suggest taking to the C&K with a sledge hammer and then looking around for quotes for a more up to date system.

I know a few techs that do C&K / MCM / Verex System removals free of charge using nothing more then a sledge hammer, mind you they do make a hell of a mess

I don't like Adro's advice as this can potentially cause back-issues.

My preferred method for clearing fault indicators on a C&K panel involves submerging it in salt water overnight and then burying it near a crossroads at midnight.

Your method does not sound as fun

UNfortunately, that didnt work and as we are about to sell the house, destroying the alarm is not really an optin either, but thanks for that helpful suggestion

Without digging too deep into your problem chances are it needs nothing more than a new backup battery especially since it's happening after a power outage. These usually last for about 4 years

Some panels with a dead battery after a power outage lose their date/time settings as well.

From memory C&Ks don't have a time/date setting. I threw all my C&K books out last year with the expectation that I would never touch one again. This years resolution is to discard all the DSC books - oh happy days

    Annoying as all hell.

DSC actually make some fantastic gear. It's a shame none of it seems to find its way down-under though.

    try
    * 1 # reset alarm memory
    or
    *54# error tones toggle on/off
    or
*53# chime toggle (recommend this one first as it looks like chime is enabled)

Agreed! Come across this one before on multiple panel types, including the C&K, drives people bonkers!
