Ademco (whoever the hell they are these days) used to have a line fail monitor...years and years ago before they were built in to most panels. Dunno if they are still available but.
Should be quite easy to throw one together yourself?
I have spent a bit of time trying to get the PSTN monitoring to work on Tecom Ch, only to find out from Interlogics, it really doesnt work the way it should do.
I need it to trigger a output when it fails after a delay time. The panel reports on PSTN. Has anyone come accross a device that will monitor PSTN line voltatge, just the way the GSM units do, that also has the ability to activate an output?

Don't be too quick to dismiss conspiracy theories.
Remember that EVERYTHING that has EVER been discovered
started somewhere as a THEORY!!
Arniedog,
Assuming you simply want to monitor for line-cut, can I suggest moving away from PSTN altogether toward something more robust? For the time and materials required to achieve what you're attempting, you'll still have a system which can be defeated by a pair of scissors.
I have the tecom triggering a input on a videofied controller to report PSTN line fail, that was the idea. hence the PSTN fail alarm would be nice.
I'm sure Arniedog will correct me if I'm wrong but I would guess the Videofied reports over GPRS, so having it monitor the PSTN in a roundabout way is a low-rent way of achieving a dialler backup.
Although for a site that is going to invest in remote video, to use the PSTN for monitoring is as logical as buying a Ferrari to drive on the beach.
