Default New Laptop for Insight/Titan etc

Just looking at upgrading laptop for programming. Insight recommends 64 bit system, Titan 32 Bit. Has anyone had any issues with 32 or 64 bit operating systems being incompatible with this and other software and if so any recommendations on how to get around this problem.

Have had some issues in the past with the software on Windows 7 32&64. Some easy things to remember when installing the software are.

    1) Make sure you are a Local admin on the machine.
    2) UAC is turned off, this can cause issues with the registrary getting setup correctly.
    3) Make sure the computer is password protected, having a user account without a password means nothing will actually get run as an admin users.
    4) ASUS and DELL laptops come with a vendor version of windows... they can have a version of SQL already installed; this is incompatible with both software packages. (Uninstall before you start)
    5) Insight PRO (requires a dongle), HASP, the dongle manufacturer doesn't allow the drivers to be installed via remote desktop apps or terminal service apps. Install the driver manually at the physical machine BEFORE you start.
    6) Panel to Insight comms operate on UDP 17185, add the port as an exception in the firewall. Some people think that a successful PING means the panel should communicate correctly, a PING works on TCP.
    7) When doing backups in Insight, make sure the IRDBbackUpSql.exe is running under an ADMIN account (Right click, Compatability, Run as ADMIN).
