    If you'ld do a Google-search for "primo2 looses signal" than you get 7.370 results. Seems to be a not-uncommon problem with CE 5.0 units. As I've noticed, noone really had offered a working fix. Probably iGO Primo 2.x is just too much for your outdated Eonon D5120A (CE 5.0 NET, Sirf IV).
    Stick with iGO8, it works fine.

    >> Have you ever tried to run your Primo version without any skin (means using Primo's default skin) to ensure your issue isn't skin related? Often a non-default skin causes problems.

    BTW: I've Primo 2.4 running on a CE 6.0 NET unit with Sirf V chip. No issues - works flawlessly.

    Thanks Jwoegerbauer - Yes initial google search is what brought me to this site & I see lots of ppl having similar issues with primo. Some said older versions didn't have this issue while some did.

    I did buy this unit because of good reviews with unit plus company making several products for various luxury cars etc., I did find after-market units for my car cheaper than my unit but I specifically chose this one as it perfectly fits my car without any extra accessories & is reasonably good unit (works great so far overall includinding iGo latest maps it came with). I did knew it was on WinCE5.0 with Sirf IV but I have also noticed this GPS signal issues with Win 6 CE units (including xtrons brand) upon googling. Plus side is I have 128MB memory so I am not limited to those 64MB only apps.

    So I believe primo/GPS combo signal issue is widely known issue. Some have had luck by altering settings while other didn't.

    I will try with default skin & let you know if that makes any better. As mentioned earlier, I do get7-13 satellites. Its just that it doesn't seem to lock the signal & keeps saying "re-calculating route".

    Guys - Good News ! I replaced Primo2.4 maps with Primo 2.0 from the link that Bazzle sent in this thread (. No signal issues & drove for over 40K without any issues.

    So not sure what's in 2.4 that's causing the issue but I will still try changing to default skin on 2.4 & see if it works.

    If I can't get 2.4 to work & stick with 2.0:

    My issue now:

    Bazzle's version of primo 2.4 had mapchanger which let me change bet TT/Nav maps, how do I do this in Primo 2.0? I already tried copying all maps folder (nt,ot etc.,) including utility folder that's got mapchanger.exe program & added to sys.txt:

    [mapchanger]
    map_ta=TomTom 2012.03
    map_tt=TomTom 2012.03
    map_nt=Navteq 2012.Q2
    map_ot=-------------------

    But I can't see that option when I use Primo 2.0. Tried changing skins too. Tried under "map settings" but couldn't find.

    Should this work? Am I missing anything? If someone can please tell me the correct procedure/files/program I need?

    Thanks

    I use a dimka skin and pressing the icon in the top left corner should show the map changer icon along with others.

    Thanks NRT - Fixed this after changing skin, I can see the option now !

    - Is primo better than iGo from you guys' experience?
    - Can I use/swap Primo's map/poi/skin etc., in iGo & vice versa?

    Took me a while to get used to Primo, but now I prefer it.
    Maps, poi, dem, buildings are interchangeable, but not skins.

    Guys - I have managed to also put sensis maps in map changer. Have couple of questions though:

    My maps in map changer says "tomtom 2012.Q2", "Navteq 2012.Q3", "sensis 2012.Q4".

    1. What in your experience is the best map to use (mostly melbourne) out of these three?
    2. Does tomtom map above means its actually the same map as the one found in tomtom devices? If so, is there a latest map or is 2012.Q2 the latest?

    Thanks

    The latest map available around the traps are Sensis R20 2012,Q4 and Navteq 2013.Q1 (the one you show as TomTom 2012.Q2 is an older Sensis map and as you already have the latest Sensis map it can be deleted). The map data will be slightly different between the two map types. From what I am led to believe the Navteq maps are slightly better than Sensis in Melbourne and generally slightly better in the country areas although you will probably find that it can easily come down to personal preferences as each map type has it's strengths and weaknesses. YMMV. The Sensis maps should not be designated as TomTom but that comes about because TomTom bought TeleAtlas maps and the Sensis maps were often included in the TeleAtlas camp. The basic Sensis map data that both TomTom and Nav'nGo use is the same, only the implementation is different.

    Cheers, Ian

    Navteq 2012.Q3 and Sensis 2012.Q4 are the latest. Get rid of the other one.
    I only use one or the other, Sensis has more graphics but some street name errors where I live, Navtech is more up to date in Ringwood but has some speeds wrong and poi graphics not embedded like sensis for petrol etc.
    Have a nice day

    Thanks Jard88/Bazzle - I will delete the entry that says "tomtom" maps.

    Have I rightly understood yours posts that tomtom uses sensis maps in their devices so if I am already using sensis maps in iGo, thats all good?
