Default Problem with a tecom (v8) - user code.

We have a Tecom (Ver. 8) user code that always appears as a duress code. Have checked and it is not programmed as duress code anywhere. This code is not similar to any other user codes either. The only thing that it could be is that although it is a four digit code, it has same four digits (in order) as part of the security code (10 digit code) For example his code is 1234 and security code (Titan) is 0123456789.
It's not a major issue as the client has allowed us to ignore the duress code, (and we can change programming to allow this user code to report as a normal disarm code,) but really we should do better than that.

    Any suggestions?

The ten digit code is only for Titan connection but is the easiest to change if you want to rule it out. If the user code is 1234 then the duress code is 1235. Test this with your client get him to enter a code that is one less eg 1234 if he thinks his code is 1235. If this works with no duress problem solved.

As PANDATECH said if the user code is 1234 then the duress code for the user is automatically 1235, if the code was 2468 then the duress code for that user would be 2469 that is how Tecom works.

Had this experience once before. A manager/installer had entered codes from different users at different times. I believe at that time there was nothing to stop them from creating for example user 5 as 1234 and user 9 as 1235. Best to download and check all users on pc. It was a long time ago....may have been on a panel link site multiple ras and areas and the user was created in one area and given access to a different area later - it was some weird combination that did it. Also check the CID codes haven't changed from default....like I said it was a long time ago

From Memory there is a location to disable the PIN code duress function, as 99 % of clients dont use the function and the Gendarmes were getting sick of fase call outs we disable it if the client dosent require it
