Home Server or NAS ...has anyone experienced this

I have an old PC which i use as a home server storing files as well as for running Plex Server for watching movies across the home LAN or WLAN.

As this setup is olf I would like to replace this setup maybe with a new NAS or equivalent ideally something small and quiet with more functions and features

I am searching through this and other forums atm... any pointers experience or advice here will be appreciated

Synology for a prebuilt solution. Open Media Vault if you want to build your own.
