Default Panasonic Plasma TV Power Supply MPF6910

    Hi Chaps,
I would like to ask one of the panasonic plasma TV boffins if they have ever had this problem and if they think it is worth attempting a repair or just replace the whole power supply PCB.
It is a 50 inch panasonic plasma with a power supply PCB marked MPF6910.
Both mains fuses are open, poking around with a meter the only obvious problem is D017 (Type YG972S6) is short circuit.
Is this a common problem and likely to be the only faulty component ?
    Any info welcome,cheers

Sounds like it could be a 50U30A. can't comment on the PSU fault but I would poke around the TNPA5351 SC card and check if across the SC2 pins are short just in case you have 2 faults.

Is it an older Viera Model, Maybe TH50 at start of model code. I repaired one with blown mains fuses. The switching mosfet in PSU had blown.
