Need you help here please guys

This has me stumped.
James Bond Quantum Of Solace plays fine on my PS2 slim with Duo 3 Ultra Chip but on a newer model PS2 with a Matrix Infinity chip I get these lines on the screen after the Playstation 2 logo screen?

I have the Pal & US versions and both the same.

Any help appreciated.

Have you checked the settings on the Matrix chip? I think you hold the X button when you turn it on to get to the settings from memory. Maybe the chips firmware needs to be updated too. Will depend on the actual chip of course.

like cwispy says , just change the setting in the chipto everything 'on'
but it is the circle and triangle button held down together when you first tunr the machine on (i think lol)

Thanks for your help guys, will check it out next time I'm there. (It's my grandsons console, but my son-in-law wants to play 'Bond' lol

Ye it is Oz...on Modbo4, probably the same on Modbo745 etc.
Dont think the settingsw will do much....sounds like some interfernce from the modchip...or 3rd party power packs do something similar to that(i would know as I'm using one now & from time to time a bit of interference/noise appears on screen).

Hi guys, relayed the info over the phone to 'change the chip settings to all on/auto', but no go.
It's still the same lined pattern after the playstation 2 logo screen.

Thanks for the info Ljay, I'll take our power pack next time we're over there and see if it is that

The Matrix infinity is V 1.93 firmware.
Console is SCPH 77002
Is there a recommended better firmware to use?
