is Play station 3D just the same machine with different games & 3D glasses?

Or is it a new PS machine?

Out of the box, the PS3 is great, because as many people know who are watching this, you don't need to do anything with your PS3. It's gonna take just a simple firmware update--most people do those firmware updates regularly--that's all it's going to take to acclimate [any] PS3 to 3D gaming.

You will need a 3D TV and glasses, but to...have that kind of complete experience with the PS3, it's just a simple firmware update.

i dont understand how they cant just do it like nvidia video cards do and use a set of normal green and red 3d glasses.

Not red/blue, but stereoscopic shutter glasses and the 3D tvs need to be at least true 120hz not upscaled like all the 100 & 200hz are now, there are a few 85hz DLP Projectors now that do 3D with Nvidia

There is a catch, however. The Sony rep explained that PS3 owners would need to purchase a Sony LH or HX series 3D-capable TV to get everything working correctly. We really have a hard time believing that, and even own our TV editor David Katzmaier thinks that PS3 in 3D should work with any 3D HDTV

Still need Sony shutter glasses too
Also every manufacture says you need Hdmi -1.4 for 3D 120hz 1080p.x.1920p
Sony says the PS3 can do it, but that is hdmi 1.3, hmmm ??

First firmware 3.30 update will allow 3D gaming, you have to wait till next update for 3D Movies
