ps3 guitar hero controller question

Hi Guys,
I have a 60gb ps3 and guitar hero 3 with wireless controller. I just want to know if there is any way of getting the ps3 and wireless controller to work with ps2 format guitar hero games. It does play the game and can be played with the normal ps3 wireless controller but not the wireless guitar.
