Default H.264 Problem.

I have a Sony Video Player NWZA826KB.

Goto the Sony website: SONY - Australia and in their search bar type in the above code.

It says it supports the new codec H.264 AVC Baseline. I have a program called Super by eRight Software (free). I have set it up to convert it to this format. Converted it, tranferred it over the the player and tried to play it and the player says: File format not supported and yet the web site says it does?

Here are the settings I have used:

01. Apple - Ipod/Iphone (mp4)
02. Video Codec: H.264/AVC
03. Audio: AAC LC
04. Video Scale: 320X240
05. Aspect: 4:3
06. Frame/Sec: 30
07. Bitrate: 384 (I use that to get a longer battery life.)
08. Options: Default
09. Audio Sample: 44100
10. Channels: 2
11. Audio Bitrate: 64kbps

Now, I can get it to work if I change the Output Container to Apple - ipod/iphone

(mp4). Video Codec to MP4 no problem but, as soon as I change it to Apple -

ipod/iphone (mp4) to H.264/AVC that's when I get the error. I would like to use the H.264 codec as they say it's a better quality than MP4.

I know there is an option for the sony but tried it and it don't work.

Can any1 help me in this matter.?

Thanx in advance.

Swatty.

Had a look at the eRight website, it's a bit disorganised, and just to get to the download link is convoluted to say the least, I wonder if the software is any good?

H.264/AVC/MPEG-4 Part 10 are different names for the same thing and AVC-baseline is the "lowest" profile and is intended for mobile type devices. MPEG-4 part 2 is used in the DivX and Xvid and needs about twice the bit rate to have the same quality video as H.264.
Maybe the Super converter included some advanced features that are not in the baseline profile... check out H.264/MPEG-4 AVC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You may want to give Xilisoft Video Converter a go, the Zune profile is probably the same what your Sony requires.
