Default Channel Nine HIRO codec

Has anyone had any luck in converting the Channel nine HIRO codec to AVI?
The quality is pretty good and you can download any old episodes for free the only downside of this is that you have to use windows media player to play them and it talks to the internet and half way through thows a couple of ads in.

I want to be able to watch it on my mediagate box but it won't let me and the only option I have is to wathc it on the PC, Thanks in advance

Does this mean I should be able to rip it ro AVI using a DRM removal or bypass program?

If so have anyone got any suggestions on the program that gives the best results.

Thanks

Supposedly, there is a way of removing the DRM by passing the file through the Hiro decoder first, demuxing and then recombining the streams.

The catch is, you'll need OSX.

Full instructions at

I don't have access to OSX easily so if anyone can give this a shot and let us all know, that'd be great
