    Question Panasonic Viera

    Hi all.
Just a question regarding the new Viera TV's which can view video via the SD card slot.
With the new Panasonic Viera TV's (ie TH-L37x10A) which now have video capability from the SD card slot, and we have a TX-37LZD800A which doesn't have video capability, is it just a firmware thing, or is it a hardware thing, or a combination of both???
We would like to know if it's possible with a firmware upgrade, as the TV is only twelve months old.
    Cheers

How will they get you to buy a new telly if they support older models with firmware upgrades? To be honest I really don't know but I would guess there would be some new hardware like a new decoder chip or the like for the video side of things.

I seriously doubt the hardware platform would be the same, but one way to find out would be to track down the . You occasionally find them online for some brands too.

Or maybe have a chat with service technicians at your local TV repair shop. They probably won't be interested in cross-model firmware compatitibility but they should be able to get hold of schematics and component lists.

I like my Viera and wouldn't dare risk bricking it. Make sure yours is still within (extended) warranty, and don't break any stickers!

Hey IWAC .How do you find the reliability with the Panasonics, and have you seen any with the red speckle syndrome.
I looked at a few at Dick Smith this week and they do show a nice picture.
