Not sure about ATI cards, but nvidia has an option in the nview panel for multiple displays. You can turn it off, set it to clone, or extend the desktop...
check in your graphics card properties.
I have an ATI (AMD) 1050 512 Mb video card that has both a DVI and a VGA output connector installed in a desktop PC.
DVI feeds straight into a 19" LCD monitor - no problem.
What I want to do is feed the VGA to my Panasonic PT-AX100E projector.
It has, apart from HDMI, composite and video, a VGA input.
When I boot the PC, I get VGA on the projector, however once Windows XP kicks in, I lose it.
Is their something obvious I'm missing here?
My laptop works fine via VGA, but I do need to cycle through Fn F4 keys to send VGA.
Is their a similar key sequence for PC?
Thanks in advance.

right click on anywhere on the desktop and go to properties, then display settings. should be options in there for you to play with.....
Stop being so stupid.. it’s my turn!!
sometimes, you will find that the 'other' screen is there, but it just doesn't appear because the area covered is so big. Grab a folder with the mouse and try to drag it across to the other screen.
iam a bogan
Thanks for your replies Gents,
ATI Catalyst Control Centre lets me select my 2nd monitor as "Default TV" whatever that means. You get a list of possible formats eg B/PAL etc.
I'm thinking my projector won't like it as PAL is a TV protocol.
I have enabled multiple desktops "Extended desktop mode" and can drag off my monitor (ie cursor disappears off the RHS of screen) but nothing appears on my VGA connected projector.
There doesn't seem to be any settings to determine a desktop to VGA output path that I have found yet.
Google says it can be done, but there are no specifics.
I'll keep on experimenting.
I think from my memory you can select which monitor to be default. Try to click on the VGA connected monitor with your mouse and see if it changes the video output. Also you need to make sure your video cards can support two video outputs simultaneously.
