Hi Mel,

Have a read of the thread below converting DVD to AVI, Porkop suggested these programs:

"If ever I do do a avi/mpg/mp4 to VOB (dvd) I use Nero Vision Express or WinDVD Creator. But as I have a media player and a DivX player, it seems pointless."

porkop

I had already asked the question and as Porkop said Nero Vsion Express was good.

Default ConvertXtoDVD

As per previous replies "ConvertX" converts and writes the disc what more could you want and doesn't seem to have the sinc issues like a few of the others.

Yep, I'm another fan of Convertx2DVD, however if your like me and like nice neat Menu's then convert can be a bit of a pain when you have 2 x AVI files making up the movie IE: CD1 & CD2, Whilst Convert will play them concurrently there is a miniscule delay in the jump from 1 to 2 so I like to use Fast AVI MPEG joiner to merge the 2 files.

Thanks to FandTM666 for both the recommendation and the file.

Just put DVDsanta into google and download. I've always found this programme useful when I'm making a DVD for someone.
Haven't used it lately. I can't see the point of creating DVDs when the AVI originals play so well on my DVD player. There are quite a lot now which support "DivX". I can fit 12 standard (43minute) tv shows, or 6 movies on a DVD for approx 50 cents.

I just set up a media pc in the lounge.
Stream any movie in hdmi or mp3 from my server.
No having to burn stuff anymore.
Too nice.
