I WAS being polite, I explained the situation how it really was. I have also been an austech member for several years, I only recently became a premium member because I could not afford the high fees ebay charges and was intending to sell many items, but that idea has gone out the window since now I have pursued other avenues. I could have done it for free, but I thought I would help with the site fees, only for it to be thrown in my face.

You donated a small amount of money to become a "premium" member...it is NOT required..it is a donation
Now...many of us have been here far longer than most and have contributed in many ways...not just in $ terms either.
The forum has had a massive crash and it will take several weeks to get everything back up and running...be patient mate...you will have your premium status returned and in a few weeks this will all be but a memory.

cant admin just extend your membership status for an extra week. or refund it pro-rata (you might get a few cents back).

but i probably wouldn't call it a donation anyway, the way i see it your paying to become a premium member, eg getting something/an upgrade. a donation to me is something you give to support a cause/site in this case, but dont get anything in return.
but that you can look at it like. youre donation to the site, but as a bonus you can have some extra stuff.
but hell thats another whole argument.

Every cent i earn means alot to me as i work hard for my money, but as for a lousy $20 refund just because the site went down for a week .It has already been mentioned in the first post everything will be back to normal as soon as possible then there was another post where if you had proof to get in touch with admin and he would sort it out.

But just because you are a premium member still does not mean you get anything secret its just a few upgrades and a show of support for a great site.

BTW, the other thing is, I had been encouraging some contacts of mine to become premium members, one of them did become a premium member right before the crash (literally within a day almost) he was (and still is) annoyed with me of course, I have lost his trust and respect (not that anyone here gives a fart) and I couldn't even offer him any advice about what might have happened. we debated for a long time about whether we were blocked, perhaps the dubious legality of the items were frowned upon (it seems to us this was always a safe harbour for freedom) then we supposed that the government had taken down the site (as is all the fashion lately) "it was good while it lasted" I said.

fortunately 99% of people here are understanding to the situation and if i had to sit here and refund money all day I would have to close the door

well said admin...i think there is more then enough premium members here who think you are doing your best along with mods to get things sorted out but wingers like him are a liability not an asset so if you want i will throw in a bit of cash to help piss him off .

If they are all losers like you then don't encourage them to join. One loser like you is enough.
Maybe you should consider you DONATION as a stupidity tax, and by my calculations you should be putting in a lot more money for what you have whinged about so far.
And by the way, my taxs pay your pension and I don't think I am getting value for my hard earned tax so maybe you should refund some of your pension and make me feel better.

good god !!!! everyone got money worth by becoming premium member and if happen that system went down day after someone made payment them bad luck, we not talking about truck load of cash but few bucks which will buy just 4 or beers if lucky in cheap pub !!!!!

its time maybe to bring in small fee as 70% of members are here for freebies
