And a big well done to cabbaguy for cracking the 500,000 point mark!

cabbaguy - User Summary - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats

Although this means the bugger will be overtaking me in less than a week. So how do you get workunits worth more than 1000 points and get two or three done in a day? How many PC's are you folding on?

Anyways, congratulations.

Cheers,
Pom

Pom

You have to be folding SMP work units on a dual or quad core processor. (Edit - And have more than one processor folding)

Unfortunately it wont last the Boss got me to run up a heap of machines and the the order fell through so i've had them on the test bench doing something useful.
But more importantly congratulations to you cabbaguy on reaching 1/2 a million points. i'm a long way behind but will still keep going...

Just started folding again. Got the GPU clients cranking on a few machines and about to get my hands on a nice dual xeon machine on which the SMP client will be going on forthwith

Sitting at around 50k (not quite there, but will easy be over it by the end of tonight ).

Cheers guys

Whatever you're doing it's working fine.
Silentas gets a congratulations too, 6500 points as of last night, and the first milestone passed.

Lochie gets a congratulations for his first milestone of 1000 points.

And evil_jesus has popped two milestones a new freckle this week.

That's some seious effort going in right there at 10,000 points per day. One of these days the stats will keep me in the top 10.

haha lochie is my bro that keeps changing one of my GPU clients to his name whenever i go to work the bastard :P

Back up to full production at the moment, had that nasty Project 5801 bug that was causing the GPU cores to go nuts and not work. Fixed that up so should be back up to 15k a day capacity and i get my Dual Xeon machine on Friday!

Thanks very much guys! Its awesome to be back on board folding again

At the end of the day that all one of my machines does too; it regularly churns out low point units. The problem is that it's a production machine for me in that I need it to record TV reliably and anything that affects that gets wiped. The gaming rig however gets fired during the day when I dont have to listen to it's noise and it's running the big points clients for testing.
It's all good as long as the science behind the folding help the Stanford guys achieve some of their goals.

if i can throw some scepticism of the 'folders thing' who benefits other than electricity providers? I have never heard any research institute claiming they made a break through due to some dork who leaves his computer on when he isn't home.
Global Warming is more of a concern i would have thought.
