I have upgraded and am now running an Intel quad core E6600, over 2,000 points a day running the SMP client, will probably have another in a week or so.

| Super Moderator | from Folding@home - Science What have we done so far and where are we going? Folding@Home has been a success. In 2000-2001, we have folded several small, fast folding proteins, with experimental validation of our method. We are now working to further develop our method, and to apply it to more complex and interesting proteins and protein folding and misfolding questions. Since then (2002-2006), Folding@Home has studied more complex proteins, reporting on the folding of many proteins on the microsecond timescale, including BBA5, the villin headpiece, Trp Cage, among others. More recently (2006-present), we have been putting a great deal of effort into studying proteins relevant for diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Hunntington's Disease. You can learn more about our results and peer-reviewed scientific achievements on our Papers Page. see Folding@home - FAQ-Diseases |

Nice, I see pom is starting to crank a few big numbers as well. I have just ordered a new quad core system, so that will make 2 x dual cores, a quad core, and a few small systems folding. If we can get few new members into the folding, we may get back to where we used to be.

| Premium Member | Yep, that beta SMP client makes a big improvement! We certainly need a few more folders. I remember rattling teams to get in the top 100, now were down to 145th! If only a dozen members with dual or quad cores kicked in, we would start climbing back up the ladder. We've lost 2 places in the last week.
