Depends... there is a new work unit out, 2665 I think, that scores a little lower than the rest. I run 2 SMP 5.91 beta6 cores with a the SMP Affinity Changer Folding Forum • View topic - SMP Affinity Changer to ensure all CPU cycles are used on the Q6600. You get more points that way and as long as you don't exceed the preferred deadline I don't see a problem with doing it although ""in the interest of good science, please run one FahCore per physical CPU core" is the recommended way. See Folding Forum • View topic - Running two WUs at the same time You run 2 SMP cores because the WU used to be inefficient and you didn't fully utilize your CPU. But they are getting better and may stop doing it soon. Still haven't answered your question... something around 1900PPD with a single SMP core I think, I'll check tonight. Of course running SMP cores can be troublesome with them deciding not to continue folding... ie it stops at x% and then does no more. If you don't keep checking it'll stay that way forever. With 2 SMP cores stopping them with a ctrl-c can be a problem and both cores WUs are "corrupted" and it starts them again. Last edited by ssrattus : 30-05-08 at 10:07 AM. Reason: wrong CPU

| Member | Ty for the reply. I am also running affinity (as of 2 days ago) on my quad core, with 2 x 5.91 clients. Tried the new clients but had nothing but dramas. Fahmon is showing 2574.94 ppd on my quad core. Tried it on dual core, but way 2 slow. Will check over the next few days to see how it runs. Btw, have a look @ this pic, and u will see what I mean about my score seeming a little lite on http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/ima...9eaeda2dc0.jpg Once again, well done on the big 1 mill. Any1 else out there folding on dual or quad cores, would love to know what fahmon is reporting for the benchmarks. Last edited by cabbaguy : 29-05-08 at 01:35 PM. |

| Super Moderator | You're overclocking and doing well. I have 2 Q6600 PCs and the 2665 WUs are horrible, low points and 20Mb WU results to send back compared to 2653 with 5Mb WU results. PC1 For WU 2665 I get 1241 ppd and for WU 2665 I get 1242 ppd PC2 For WU 2665 I get 1241 ppd and for WU 2653 I get 1552 ppd. I am using FAHSpy to monitor, so there may be some differences in the ppd calc cf FAHMon. Last edited by ssrattus : 30-05-08 at 10:06 AM. Reason: wrong CPU |

| Member | I wish that was me, its a pic taken from the affinity changer post. I have just overclocked my quad core system, and have started 2 fresh clients, both 5.91with affinity running. I havent had a result as yet, as the 1st 2 crashed, so I will let this run its course and see what happens, if it crashes again maybe its 2 unstable and will change a few things around. |

| Member | Hmmm ok, I wonder if my config of the Fah client is correct, as I have a quad core 6700 which has been slightly overclocked (2 gig ram), and my ppd are less then yours. 2665 - 1144 ppd 2665 - 1088 ppd Reported by Fahspy Hmmmmmmmmm just looked @ that pic again, do u run your clients with any flags ???? |

Oops I just realised I gave you a bum steer, I have Q6600, the same as the piccy you posted, just not overclocked.... I'll change my earlier post to stop confusion. initially only the -local flag, later the -advmethods and -forceasm, but these 2 were already configured when I initially set them up anyway, so they didn't actually change anything. overnight some ppds have changed a little. 2665 - 1237 ppd 2653 - 1760 ppd 2665 - 1225 ppd 3064 - 1330 ppd There is a site that is a database of hardware and ppd per Giga Hertz. fahinfo.org Folding @ Home PPD Database

From what I have read, dont use cntrl-c to stop them as it stops both and corrupts them, the way 2 do it now is with a restart apparently. Update: Have had a muck around and managed to get them up to this. 2665 - 1359 ppd 2665 - 1373 ppd Much happier now, just hoping it be stable as I have lost about 7000 odd points already lol.
