| Premium Member | Mate just run it on win XP for the time being and have a good play with it, that way u get know the program and if you need to you can go live with windows xp until you are able to go to Visat or 2003 Server. Just start using the program and you'll work out the rest. p.s. don't worry the author is still around & reading this thread ....

| Premium Member | Hey This is my first post on this forum so please be kind to me... Im hoping to be able to help users in the future with my experience in CS across NDS and Whitey Cards... I have been running GWM 071b for 2 weeks with a whitey and im very impressed. I have found it to reduce many of my pixilation issues that I have had for many months using NewCS 1.5, thankyou to Greywolf and team for this software... But on the flip side I am finding that as I approach over 6 users GWM becomes unstable, for example, 1. The users disappear or dont add to the INI file correctly 2. After hitting 10 + users GWM only permits the quickest 10 users to connect and the others stay in ready mode, but if one of the 10 connected users fall off then a waiting user takes the slot. Is anyone else experiencing these issues? I have read that there is a limitation of 20 users due to commercial reasons which Im cool with but in my experimentation with GWM im finding issues after 6 users. Im running WinXP SP2 The work around that i currently have in action is GWM as the main server and two DM500s' running CCcam2.05 (for EMM updates to whitey - no humax needed) as Tier 2 servers where CCcam clients connect to. Seems to work really well for me but it would be great to hit GWM directly and not have unpredictable issues and having to waste 2 DMs. Suggestions? uflca |

I only tried Greywolf myself last night (and today) and experienced exactly the same results uflca. Not sure if it's somehow operator error on my behalf or what. So for now I'm back to newcs. Nevertheless it looks like a great app and I love the way you can see the EMM/ECM's received and the channel the client is watching.

| Premium Member | yes weirdo I feel the same way its a simple to use program and provides exactly what we need in a server package, not to mention AU friendly I liked it so much that I incorporated these two DMs into my Network and actually found that by only having two users (DM1 and DM2) GWM works a treat (no issues at all) also the fact the CCcam2.05 is caching (IRD2) on both DMs I am reducing the hits on the whitey (reduction in pixilation) and as thus the distributed architecture works really well for me. |

Thanks for the heads up m8. Might do what others have done and buy a cheap laptop on Ebay. Does GWM runs on earlier versions of Windows (like '98) ? Unfortunately (?) my new Quad Core PC is already loaded with Vista.

| Premium Member | How many different cards are you running ? i.e. how many phoenix readers? If you are running two cards, run two seperate copies of GW on different ports for each card. Quote:

| Premium Member | Hi STI02 Im only running one whitey with a standard Jaycar Phoenix. Its GWM that is giving me issues with users over 6, so to get around the user issue Im running CCcam (Client to GWM and Server to Users) At first I did not want to do this but it seems that its running really well having the Tiered approach thus reducing the number of users (2) in GWM. Im really interested to hear if anyone else is having the same user issue as I am or if its just related to my setup as I have not read anything in this interesting thread about user limitation or issues around adding over 10 users to GWM. uflca |

| Junior Member | has anyone experimented with smart wi, ie GWM running with three phoenix card readers and each having a smart wi client card...then the whitey in the master. Three instances of GWM running, each is configured to use one of the three phoenix card reader. This way you get three times the number of users. |

| Premium Member | Well if it is a newly discovered limitation in this version & we all ask nicely I am sure Mr Greywolf will grace us with a new updated version that has higher users tolorence + a couple of other little things that were requested as well. The key is to ask nicely and praise Mr GW on his great work, because I don't think he got much of that on this forum. Quote:
