if you are using tiny xp you have to get all the network system stuff installed as well which is removed in the effort to shrink it.

i can say that doing this running

beast on a p3 1 gig dell c610 with 256 meg ram

3 internal dreams

2 external dreams

1 internal hummy with bf430

1 external hummy with bf430

500 gig external hdd for the dream recording and share

i reboot it once a week and that the only time i look at it

Use whichever is best for your setup mate.

They both do the job.

There are more settings in the new one, and that can be a bit of trial and error for some people.

watching the error recovery software routines on a bf430 show just how much work was done in the first version, the second version concentrates on Dreamboxes really..whichever suits the job.

I have a fan plugged into the same power point as as all my gear and it must spike when I switch it on and off and cause GWM to stop working. Restart services and all is well. Interesting.....

Default *Allow EMMs* option

when adding another client does *allow EMMs* need to be ticked?
would this interfere with anything if all clients had this box ticked?
or is better to let only one client have this option on?

im about to connect an external client on to the server.

also with a CCCam external client is the script like this?
N: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx yyyy uuuuuuu ppppppp 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 2

x = my external IP address?
y = port used for newcamd in GWM
u = username
p = password

im not sure what IP address to put,do i just put my external IP address in xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and let my router do the rest?

Ive opened port yyyy on the router and assigned it to my internal IP address(where GWM is)
is that right?

Yup, outside address, be aware that that may change if its assigned by DHCP by your ISP.

And yup to the 2nd question,.. port opened and directed to serving machine, i.e. where GWM is.

If you are using adsl then i suggest a dyndns account setup and use that address for the server ip.

Most modem/routers have the dyndns updater built in these days so if your ip changes it will sort it out.

so instead of

123.123.123.123 you would have mysetup.dyndns.org as the ip

channels can be deleted off user botiques but not some of the other menu's
they sometimes come up under "new channels scanned" and another menu.

will parental lock keep it hidden from those menus as well?

yes !

but tick hide locked services, then...most important...do a soft restart through the menu.

You may as well hide all the stupid inoperative channels as well.

The results are very, very good.

use the setup password as well if the kids are smart arses.

Ok, this is doing me in!!

Built an internal season in a Humax 5410Z and connected directly to Com1.

Run GW and get garbled ATR.. then loose picture and on the screen and tells me that it is an invalid card.. and have to stop GW and re-set box to get pictures back.

Would this be a cause of the ATR delay settings and if so, how critical are the numbers? Ie: default is set at 250ms. What decrease/increase increments would be best to get corrct ATR?
Does the settop box need to be on before GW is running or after??

Some help would be great..

Seem to be going in circles with this..

Cheers

You have to try a bit at a time..

If you read other posts in this thread you will notice that the rs232 connection is not as robust as the BF430 and newcamd connections.

You get what you pay for.

Get a BF430 from sattronics if you want it to plug and play.

Thumbs up

OK!!! Shes going..

Finally got it.. Ended up being the idiot factor (or drunk) with the caps in the season interface that fandtm666 posted earlier. Inserted .1uf insted of 1uf. Damm decimal points.

Anyway, set it up in a jaycar reader in the shed and used realcom and bf430 in the house and going good..

Thanks to fandtm666, z and all the others for their help...

Cheers..

Unhappy Lip sync issue

GreyWolf

I am a big fan of your work, thanks a million. I have an issue that's driving me up the wall and I thought you might see it from a different light.

Im a running GW Midnight on Win XP SP2 using two phoenix card programmers,
both running gammas.

Viewing via a DM500s & CCcam 2.0.7, Optus C1 channels work fine. Some Intel8 channels I m getting lip sync. Tried swapping cards in the readers, tried swapping comm ports. Tried different frequencies 3.58 & 6 MHz.
Tried NewCS and that was worst. Fast zapping is switched off.
Is there anything I can log on GW side that could help me track down where the problem is?

Does this problem fall within the "ATR delays issue" ??

Cheers

I have winXP sp2 all latest patches and have a jaycar mk2 set to 6mhz and phoenix mode with button in. I have found with greywolf midnight to get the card details populated I need to run the greywolf binary in "windows 2000" compatibilty mode.

If i don't run it in compatibility mode i dont get the correct details in the card details section of greywolf midnight.

I still cannot get pics though with progdvb running wincsc with it setup as a newcammd 5.25 user. I can get wincsc to get the card details when i press get "card data" in wincsc but it doesnt seem to do anything after that? I have tried mytheathre and wincsc as well.

Under the "clients" tab in greywolf the CAM key/ip addr field gets populated with the local ip address thats connectiong but under the "card" field it never shows the name of the card its connected to.. its like its not connecting to the card properly? Any suggestions? Do I need to put the card in a box for 24hrs to get it working correctly?

This is a problem that you need to resolve before going any further.

It is a problem you exclusively have, it is not the case for others.

I have exactly the same problem as ingxen. I Can't get details from the card unless i run in w2k compatability mode. I also run wxp sp2 and jaycar mk1.

I now have gotten wincsc talking to greywolf but I had to change the condition access id (CAID) in wincsc to "0624" from what wincsc got back from the card when it queries it through greywolf. It gets a CAID of "0604" when it queries the card and greywolf displays a CAID of "0603 0604 0601 0602" on the main screen??

Wincsc was not sending the requests onto the card because the CAID on each austar channel for ird2 is 0624 and wincsc didnt know where to send the request to as there was no server defined for CAID 0624. I found the CAID for each channel by looking at each channel property in mytheatre or progdvb. ird2 was 0624 and nds was 096C.

I also had to use mytheatre and wincsc as mytheatre lets you choose the ird2 ECM and EMM stream over the NDS stream.

Also running under win 2000 compatability mode is the only way i can get it to work. Running under win 2000 compatibility mode it seems to work, e.g. all the details are getting read from the card and populated under the card details on the main screen in greywolf also the client logs in and sends ECM requests and gets a reply. I have seen posts of other people who have the same prob as me and ktm200.

I still dont have pics but I think the card needs to go into a decoder and get an update. I just dont know why the CAID of the card is reported as 0604 rather than 0624?
