A dreambox, a jaycar mk2 phoenix reader, a gamma card, a straight through 9 pin serial cable with all pins connected and a male at one end and a female at the other. Lets do it properly....get a Humax, a BF430 and a season card as well. Let me know when all are on the bench and i'll take it to the next stage for you.

| Premium Member | if you are only connecting a dream to GWM what tutt would you need dam 1; set card 2: set client 3: open port on your router used by newcamd 4: set details in cccam.cfg GWM would have to be the most simple tool available and what i consider the best and to need a tutt to use it simply means you want spoon feeding because the author has designed it to be as simple as possible. now when you start to use real com equipment like the bf430's and making your own internal seasons and humax mods then ask for tutt's because then you are actually doing something that will take more than 2 minutes to setup as it was initially designed for this type of setup not dreams ![]() |

As they say, the devil's in the detail, which (when you already know how to do it) is easily overlooked. Plug the phoenix into the DB or PC serial (or either) ? 1. set card - how, where ? 2. set client - how, where ? 3. open port on router used by newcamd ok, so newcamd needs to be installed and running on the DB, or can you use CCcam or others ? 1999 seems to be the default port in GW - need to change port on newcamd to suit ? Where do I do that ? 4. set details in CCcam.cfg - presumably these are the lines beginning with N: that are already described in other threads, right ? There seems to be a few other steps - like Server - Start cards, start clients. If the phoenix is plugged into the PC and I have a LAN running, how does the DB know where to find the Phoenix - some more settings somewhere ? Well, I did call it an idiot's guide...
