Hi guys Interesting thread.
Just wondering I am reasonably new to swapping systems etc..I have currently got a Older route 66 sd card . and a IGO sd cardi got from HOE.. very good but doesnt seem to have the latest streets for Geraldton WA..By the sounds of it MIO and Tom Tom are more up to date, by what I read from you guys..
Question if I DL the tom tom maps etc from the link posted will I be able to load it onto a sd card and use it as The others //The gps I have is running a windows ce ...
Or will I need to dl the tom tom operating system also .
any thoughts apreciated. thanks guys
Many thanks there Rambo....

Thanks to Satboy and his easy quick steps, now running Australia Map 720_1868, on my GO500 ( yeah ancient I know, but hey it still works lol ) thanks dude, you make it sooooooooo easy lol
I updated my ONE XL to the latest maps and got an error "You cannot use this map on your device: Australia." on the updated map. I restored to my previous map, and got the same message.
I am now downloading a map that was posted here, but shall that fail, does anyone know how to fix that problem?
Download the map to your computer and use a keygen on it , then put it back on the device. A search of this ( GPS ) forum should give you the info to do it as I followed the instructions in a post on here last week succesfully.
Well I give up I am totally confused ..It seems that all these Lnks an ideas that flow thru here are only known to a few . For the novice it is a total waste of time to ask a question or try and suss out what goes where and what doesnt go there.
I have followed that many posts on what I thought was a simple task being >>
How do i Obtain and Install the latest IGO v * plus maps ..but all I have done is waste 1.1GB of wasted downloaded data .,thaT HAS PROVED (TO ME ) JUST A BUNCH OF GOBBLEGOK..
No real help or paths to folloe to Install IGO V 8..too complicated and long winded for me so I think I shall just ,fade away . wondering what could have been with IGO v 8...as its way out of my league..

This is an excellent turorial on how to get it all working...
However, I keep getting errors with the easytousetools... need another way! My whole thing has stopped working now, getting the map error!
Have you used the correct ttsystem
Do I need to update the Navcore when changing the maps?
Here is a copy of the post I made at the ipmart forum:
I stupidly tried to do this with no instruction or backup, and got the "You cannot use this map on your device: Australia" message.
Now, when I follow steps 3 + 4 (as I can't do step 1 as I cant get into the device!) I get these errors when trying to use the easytousetools (automatic).
When doing the 1st part of the Runforallautomatic i get:
(Filename) Exist already
(Filename) not activated
Used Device ID from TTGO.tif = (ID).
I do not know if that is the right Device ID of my actual TomTom as I can't check now.
When I run the second option in the tools I get:
An unkown error happens.
Can anyone help? Please!
EDIT: Is there any way I can be sure that the Device ID that it is getting from TTGO.tif is correct? Or can I change that file somehow.... Anyway to just get this working!
Well I fixed it... Updated the Navcore to the latest version.
TomTom One XL
I updated my Navcore to 8.010.9369 but couldn't get the 720.1868 version maps to work with it.
But I have got the maps to work on the old 7.162 navcore
Is there much difference in the navcore's?
