Default Tomtom one XL help please

    Hello

I have a Tomtom one XL as does my son.

Mine boots from a SD card whereas my son's did not come with a SD card and has internal memory.

I was able to copy and install a version of USA and Canada maps on to my SD card and they work no problems.

On my sons I copied all of the files from his internal memory(?) on to a SD card and also added the USA and Canada maps but they are not working. Is there a way of checking that his is booting from the SD card as I feel it is still booting from internal memory?.

Appreciate any advice that someone can find the time to offer.

    Cheers and thank you.

    Wink

There's a very easy way, make a full copy of the files on his XL then, delete all his installed files and try booting up using just the SD card in his XL.If it starts you know it's not using any files on his internal memory,if it doesn't let you use the map you know that it still needs cracking,if it doesn't do anything at all then you know either the files on the card are no good/corrupted or that XL isn't happy with the SD...if its a HCSD you may need to upgrade the bootloader to use it.
Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice..

    G'day mate
    try this method:
1-backup your working TT, using tom tom home software.
2-connect your son's TT device to the computer(remove SD card)
3-restore the backup file to your son's TT device, it should work.
    good luck.
