I think reboot is caused by the ttsystem file. After doing some of my own experiments I tried to run it with easyuse_tool which says this file (ttsystem file) is old for Ver 7 to 8.010 and not higher than 8.010.

with still old ttsystem the tomtom shows "no maps found" even though .DCT file is created in map folder, but when i put the ttsystem file you provided to replace the present the tomtom either stay at the start-up logo or re-boots from start-up logo. any solutions you can provide ? thanks

****** UPDATING WITH NEW FINDINGS *****

I used TT-PNA-Infotool and this is what it showed up

    P N A :TomTom GO500
    DeviceName:TomTom Steve's Tomtom 500@
    BootLoaderVersion:55128
    Serialno.:M34415H01221
    DeviceUniqueID: (DELETED INTENTIONALY)
    NavCore:8011.9373
    Current Map:
    Map Version No:0.0

in otherwords map is 845.2645 whereas Navcore is of 8011.9373

could you please let me know where from i download the correct navcore for map "Western & Central Europe 2GB 845.2645"

P.S. the keygen is showing it as a go710 is this right????????????????

DJC, i have come this far to make GO 500 work, its partially working but the problem is its not catching signal. it says "Waiting for a valid GPS signal...." how can i over come this ? i had taken it out of house for a long time but made no difference. If i put the original SD card in GO 500 it works just fine with strong signals even inside the house. Please advice

You can use the said map/navcore on your device, please confirm you used the SE ttsystem file and have a .dct file in the map folder

"You cannot use this map on this device" This error is stating that either your map is not compatible with navcore but if you used the ones from this link it is fine, or you have not used a SE or patched ttsystem file or have not patched the map.

    Thanks for your help DJC.

With regards to patching the map I presume this is the the DCT file you mentioned. With regards to the SE file I used the linked one but noticed there is an option to patch in the linked keygen. Can I use that???

I'm going to try and redo it all. Let you know what happens.

One again thanks for your help.

all of the navcore files and the SEttsystem file go on the root of your device/sd , you do not need to patch the SE ttsystem file it is pre-patched

High DJC, I've been pulling my hair out with this with it still not working.

I then noticed something that I posted early about the keygen reporting ththe the tomtom was a go 710 and didn't put two and two together.

The box the the tomtom came in was a Go510, looking at the labeling on the actual tomtom it is a go710. Would this be the cause of my problems??????

If so what map and Navcore would go with tis model????????

    cheers

ok is there 3 files in your ephem folder ?

Please replace your ephem folder with this 1 then connect to tthome and it should update .

You do not need to patch tthome unless you want to use the very basic emulator in home "operate my device"

See my next post for 9.026 (note: v9 navcores are only intended for widescreen devices unless it is the officiall for your device)
