the mapsettings.cfg is generated when you set up tomtom and do the route in the tutorial, its generated in the MAP FOLDER.

i am not sure if you can just use another mapsettings.cfg but you might as well give it go, ive uploaded my one for you to try.

follow the tutorial from the step after doing the route....ie: copying the mapsettings file and making the folder of same name in tomtom.

remember you need to edit the script to suit your device, if your card is called SDMMC (like mine) heres my script

    Errorlevel ("off")

    Delete ("\SDMMC\Australia\MapSettings.cfg")
    sleep 100

    XCopy( "\SDMMC\tomtom\MapSettings\*.*", ("\SDMMC\Australia\")
    sleep 100

    RunWait ("\SDMMC\tomtom\TomTom Navigator.exe")

    Exit

let us know how you go

    Thanks Again.

    Red face TomTom7 on 128mb 7" GPS with CE6.0

Hi All, First post and I would just like to say thanks to all & in particular Hollowman (legend), Downunder35, Jards88 & NoService. You have been extremely helpful. I have read up & down most threads for weeks now. So far I have iGO8 (8.3) working, Garmin running (yet to get the GPS), have learned to read rudimentary Romanian, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, but for the life of me I cannot get TomTom 7 with Aus 2662 map past the memory issue. I think the main issue is being able to run the mscr file (for Setmem/TTN7BOT).
Have tried using the master menu ini (thanks Kukuk) to run commands, but no luck. Don't have CE skills, and walking from PC to car is beginning to wear thin. Sorry for long post. Anyone able to help?

    Whats your units specifications?

    memory = 64 or 128mb?

128Mmb versions are notorius for not running tomtom...i couldnt manage with two gps units running 128mb of ram ... on 64 mb units i have managed to get tomtom running as per the tutorial.

128mb version - seems I have to figure out how to run the mortscript that fiddles with memory settings - also saw somewhere that one of the .dll's might not be right for 128mb ce6.0 - will begin reseaching mortscripting & let u know how I go. Thanks 4 interest.

Default TomTom7 on WinCE6.0 with 128mb Chinese GPS

FYI - Finally figured out some kind of solution. See note on Mortscripting. Borrowed Garmin.exe used to run Garmin.mscr and renamed it to run TomTom exe via .mscr file with command for setting memory and some messages to show progress.

"If you rename autorun.exe, it will execute the fitting script. I.e., if autorun.exe is renamed e.g. to
myscript.exe, it will execute myscript.mscr, or, if it doesn't exist, myscript.mortrun.
The renamed autorun.exe and script must be located in the same directory.
If a MortScript.exe is located in the same directory, too, it will be used to execute the script,
otherwise the default assignment is used (i.e. the installed MortScript – or you'll get an error
    message if there's no installation...).
This feature is handy for programs which can run other programs but not do not allow to select
.mscr files, like some phone profile tools for the PhoneEdition devices."

So got TomTom 7910 to start on 2662 map, but running on someone elses mapsettings.cfg. It ran like mad to calculate route, then crashed. Managed to delete route and exit & save new cfg file. So now runs OK without route. Then tried just driving, but map went to sleep and crashed when tapped to catch-up. Think I'll stick to iGO8
