Default GO730 doesn't not read out street names

As far as I recall now, my GO730 does not read out the street names.

I use a computer voice, i.e Jane (UK) and when I go to Voice > Voice Preferences, I get a message saying "You have selected a recorded human voice. This type of voice cannot be used to read street names or messages to you"

Now I do recall that these computer voices use to be able to do that.

I have done a full reinstall (deleted everything and reinstall on TomTom Home) on the device as well and still the same thing.

Or is it that the GO730 is not able to read out street names and messages?

With less confusion in your posting and a computervoice installed it can read street names - if the map supports it.
Since you did not mention either of it I could only guess what the problem might be.

the computer voice installed is the default voices available at the start. I'm using Jane of UK and I noticed when using it that she does not say the street name to turn to, just the simple 'left turn ahead' etc

does anyone with a GO730 has street names or messages read out during it's use?

I'm using the latest Australia map version 890.4278

    1. Use LoquendoTTS not Vocalizer
    2. Don't mix them, it is either,or
    3. You have to set the voice preference correctly in order to get spoken street names

I suggest you do a clean install of NC map and voices.
Either use Home to download Kate or check the download for my backup of the 9.430, .
You are making it hard for yourself by mixing very old stuff with new tech, even an install of the 9.430 through Home would have giving you the correct computer voices.
Patching, activating, done- don't know what is so hard about it

First of all, "Jane" is not a computer voice. It is a standard voice that will not read out street names.

Kate and Simon are examples of computer voices that read out street names.

I did a fresh install like I've mentioned in the first post but it didn't come with any computer voices until I went to the options to add more voices in HOME, there I only found Susan and Simon which rectified this problem

and because of your backup Downunder, I was able to get Kate's voice as well

    thanks for your help guys

Kate is the English computer voice that you require, Jane is a "recorded" voice. Kate also attempts to pronounce town names as a local would; Paris, France as "paree", Munich, Germany as "moonken"

Thanks for the confirmation, Pater, but there's no need to repeat what has already been said above. Anyway, if you read the posts in this thread, you will see that the user has already solved the problem.
