860?? Planning a trip into the past?
This version is totally useless due to it's age, 890 maps are current

    2?
It that is 1:"Will this worl OK with my Navcore 8.413.1237?" - If it would it would be still outdated, and for the 890maps you can check the map chart for compatibilty.
And for 2: "AND does anyone have access to NZ maps. " - If noone here has them you can check (for the chart and meta info anyway).
But a quick look in the section where posted your request should show you that most 900 maps are already posted here

I've gotta start taking my medication. I stand corrected. My first question was meant to be whether Aust map 900 4602 would work with my Navcore 8.413.123?? I stuffed up.

All you have to do is click on the link and scroll down - you won't see them if you only read the top of the page

No. The 900.4062 map requires navcore version 9.01x or higher, as stated in the first post of the following thread:

    TomTom GO 730, Navcore 9.051c, 64Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5250
    TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia 925.5412, Bootloader: 5.5244

New_Zealand_900_4602 map can be download from this site. Here is the thread:

Make sure you use the LATEST version of FastActivate to activate the new maps.

Thanks Lemonfish for a concise and helpful response. It is appreciated.

It has been a long time since I did a Navcore update as these things scare me a bit. I have one question. I've seen your post about updating navcore using TomTom home and it all seems pretty logical ans easy to follow. I've also seen another thread where Downunder offers a site to download the Navcore.

Can you explain if there is any benefit in taking one option or the other to update my Navcore. Ideally i would prefer the simplest solution. I have an old GO720 which is still working well (apart from dead battery) and am currently using Navcore 8.413.1237, but by the sounds of it I'm due for a Navcore update so I can use the latest 900 maps.

    Thanks in advance.

    Roger9,
if you do a complete backup of your device using Windows Explorer copy paste, then you have nothing to worry about. You are then free to experiment with various navcores and you can always restore your backup with a simple copy paste.

Following the clean install tutorial will give you the latest official navcore for your particular model, which should now be Navcore v9.465. The official navcore is often the most reliable one to use, as it is most suited to your particular model.

However, many people including myself have experimented and preferred using tweaked or modified navcores which provide extra functionality and different looking menus. It's worth taking the time to try out a few navcores, such as the modified ones by Downunder and see which one you like best.

    Thanks lemonfish

I will give it a go and see how it goes.

I have the latest version of fast activate (21/11/12) but it does not seem to work with the NZ 900 4600 map I downloaded. I assume the meta code is not yet available for this map. I was hoping to get this map up and running as I'm off to NZ on Sat and did not want to risk changing Navcores due to limited time (just in case I stuff soemthing up).

The latest version of FastActivate is currently 2.12.2012

Currently there is no meta for the New_Zealand_900_4600 map.
But there is meta for the New_Zealand_900_4602 map, which is really the preferred map anyway, since it's full featured with IQ/ALG.
