Megod, Just to understand: 1. You are using firmware version 1.21? 2. You have a V2 Gamma? 3 And it is updating and running with no problems? Is this the scenario that I hear,or amInot getting something?

G'Day, My card went belly up after 2 days in another box where it had been unattended (on) for 3 weeks, and was resurrected by reboot. Fired up 4658X with FreeCAM2-020. Came good after 30 mins, but died after 2 days. Followed "megod" 's instructions. No good in Cam, but came to life within a sec or so in card slot. Tried again in CAM, but died after 1 minute. Returned to card slot, all OK within sec or so. I've only done the one update as per "megod", no other fixes or wanking has been done. Card running cool, but need to check if this has card reader mod. Bought from another member just before I went AWL. Crikey, took me 2 days to read this thread, kept nodding off, too much repetition instead of searching and reading by the "GIMMES". PS: To iterate, it is not pin 17 on the Card Reader to lift and earth, it is in fact pin 3. Confusion arose from early posts on this mod to the card readers. I do hope this clarifies the current fix, without stealing "megod" 's THUNDER. Kindest Regards, " The Druid ". ...... ![]() Last edited by beer4life : 30-11-08 at 12:29 PM. ![]() | Been addressed already. Well it was, now is incorrect. Count starts from key and runs anti clockwise. IT IS PIN 17 for the last time. Last edited by sublib25 : 30-11-08 at 01:06 PM. Reason: Incorrect now |

| Premium Member | red to black, green to blue. blue to bits..... ![]() easy to mistake the pad seperator between pins 15 and 16 as a denotion of pin 1, but it ain't.... I guess it's pin 3 from both angles but one goes through a resistor.... ![]() Nice soldering ....

![]() | I stand corrected, yes it is pin 3 by the data sheet. I will just state that some chips have a moulding mark that is easily mistaken for the "key". |

JK200SX, Spot on. I am using firmware V1.21. I am Using V2 GAMMA. Card updating fine, so the firmware V1.21 Pretty much sorts it out. Occasional I need to either turn box off by remote.... or pull card in and out of the Strong's Conax slot. And that gets get it going again. Both do the same thing, and it goes strait away. It will not work in my other cams, which is a bit of a bugger. I am still waiting for the update. Still hunting, for the homeless guy.

G'Day, Why single out Strongs? Probably more than a dozen decoders mentioned throughout this thread. I've read it from go to whoa, and methinks the cause of dead whiteys was narrowed down by co-relating the experiences from that plethora of boxes. Seems most of this info is applicable to all boxes using whiteys. To sum it up, the flood of bogus updating was overloading the cards. Kindest Regards, " The Druid ". ![]()
