webpage password

i have made a web site i would like to have a section where i click on a link and have it passworded that would go to a sertion page that only people can go with the password is that able to be be done ?

the webpage in not going to posted on the net is located on pc that is not connected to the net i dont think that matters
its sort of a info site people can look up on i just need to finish it with a password section

You can also password protect website directories thru your website cpanel, just put the webpages you want to protect in those directories & you will have to enter a username & password to access those direstories.
