ive had my .au domains with them for a while now and found them to be good, fast replies to support questions and good value for money.

mid last year a quite active forum I am a member of switched to them , they promissed the world then suddenly without any warning put a banner on the page saying "please contact billing dept" , Everything was paid up to date so when contacted they claimed the site was causing to much traffic and they suspended it.
An email or phone call would have been nice or at very least a warning that band width was exceeding the current plan.
They wanted another $300 per month , the owner said this was to much and would have to move somewhere else could they pay a fixed amount to have the forum running while they found a new provider , they said no sorry you need to have a new plan.

But that was just one experience I know of , enough for me to never consider them.

Its seems to be the same with allot of hosting companies, some people have good and bad stories.
I have been with Hostmonster for a few years and I cannot recall ever having my site down without notice, I even got a message left on my answering machine saying that the server I am sharing was going to be down for no more than 12 hours on the said date....yes they called me.
Yet some say they have problems with hostmonster when you use too much traffic and bag their support.
I pay $95 year and have sooo much space and bandwidth I will never use, (I am one of the people they target to join, pay the fee and use very little of what I have allocated to me) but I see $95 well spent as I havent had any problems to date.

ive used and use webcity several times, np
but, value is buy a domain, host with toor from here, thats $30 + $12-30 domain.
the cpanel has free scripts for site building also.

i will add that i use hostgator for my hosting, not in a million years will i use the disc space or bandwidth i get with them on the baby package.

sorry to the op, the discussion is about webcity, similar story with all the .au domains i have with them, good support, but i found their hosting prices way too steep which is why i stayed with hostgator, but will stay with them for domains.

rang them they said cause its on brand new server (week old) its having teething probs .. should be up within few hrs as they have the techs checking it out ! fingers crossed!

I have a site currently with them and they seem pretty good but all automated. Had a problem with their server on a weekend and they didnt get back and fix it till the Monday. But as someone else said in the thread "You get what you pay for"
