bought and used xbox elite after about a 5 days of working fine i know get a flashing red light in bottom right corner,also get e71 error and also get e79 error,have had it flashed by a reputable modder ,it is a benq drive so was working fine,it also freezes wont play backups or originals,modder said it wouldnt be caused by flashing the rom,spoke to microsoft and they say its likely a hardware problem and that they said to send it in and get fixed,but not sure, will i get the new liteon dvd rom even if there is nothing wrong with the rom.also i have taken hardrive off still doesnt work properly.tried to clear cache but on the dashboard the y is greyed out so cant do a reset
so dont know if there is a way of fixing it without having too send it microsoft to fix it and try my luck i dont get a liteon

who did the mod job? get them to put the original firmware back on the drive + put a warranty sticker on the unit.

they'll most likely replace the mainboard for you

yep thats it, but I don't know why he would have stuck it back on. I always give the sticker to my customers on a piece of sticker paper, I usually put it under the HDD so they won't loose it.

It must be flashed back to original firmware, my understanding is that the stress disk they run in it to test it won't run on iextreme..hence they may find you out, unless they just change everything that is
