Just hear that Glen Frey of the Eagles has passed away - an amazing group. January 2016 sees the passing of some of the greats.

Yes another famous singer and pop music artist has left us. Just heard the news just a short while ago - he was 67 years.
What an amazing group from the 1970's. One of the most successful bands with that album 'Hotel California.'
RIP - Glen Frey.
He is credited by fellow band member, Don Henley as the person who started The Eagles.
Another great loss, way too young.
RIP Glenn
The US band announced the news on its website stating the founding member died on Monday in New York city after complications from a number of illnesses.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016," the band wrote.
"Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia."
"The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery. Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide."
The band included the lyrics of the song It's Your World Now from the Long Road Out of Eden Album along with the announcement.
Frey's bandmate Don Henley said the guitarist was like a brother to him, regardless of The Eagle's fractious relationship over their 45-year history and he gave him credit for starting the group.
"He was like a brother to me; we were family, and like most families, there was some dysfunction. But the bond we forged 45 years ago was never broken, even during the 14 years that the Eagles were dissolved. We were two young men who made the pilgrimage to Los Angeles with the same dream: to make our mark in the music industry - and with perseverance, a deep love of music, our alliance with other great musicians and our manager, Irving Azoff, we built something that has lasted longer than anyone could have dreamed. But, Glenn was the one who started it all. He was the spark plug, the man with the plan," Henley wrote in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Eagles toured Australia last year on their History of the Eagles tour.
This is a bad month start of year for celebrities that have passed on, Stevie Wright,Lemmy,David Bowie,Malcolm Mclaren and now it's Glen Frey....Hmmm
Jesus Christ.....all my favorite musicians are dying
Here comes another day on Youtube in sorrow
Here is a classic 80's hit from Glen
Hang on I'm still here.
Love their music and played so many of their songs over the years, people just can't seem to get enough of hearing them. The most requested eagles songs for us has been "Take it easy", "Hotel California" and " One of these nights". Any eagles song always gets people up and bopping and now they are diminishing, we will probably be asked to play more of them. Over last weekend, "Bowie" songs were the most requested. We could only play "Starman" and "Major Tom", in the past Bowie hasn't been requested much. We are arranging some of "BlackStar" and hope to do them this coming weekend, if the practice goes well Thursday.
As it is, there has been a suggestion we put together a tribute to all the muso's who have passed away recently and may start working on that as a separate bracket set during our gigs if people want it. Now it will have to include the works of Glen Frey, it's a bit unnerving to see all these people you've looked up to and played their songs over many years, to see them dropping off and we are still around.

Best band live, even my teen sons at the time were awe struck at their musical talent. RIP
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"
Sadly another great muso has died in the last few days, Dale griffin of Mott the Hoople. It must be the weather.
Must have been something in the drugs back then
One of Austech's posters commented recently of testing a set of Headphones at a retailer and the MUSAK track was 'Hotel California' which because of their age, was a bit 'down market' to their tastes.
Today we learn of the composers passing and somehow, 'Hotel California' has climbed back to its rightful place as a work of quality and entertainment.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
What a bummer, just watched the Eagles Live special on MTV or maybe MAX the other night, fecking awesome.
My teens was when One of these Nights was released & saw the Eagles live at the Sydney Showground.
I'm so gonna miss Glen. RIP
Cheers, Tiny
"You can lead a person to knowledge, but you can't make them think? If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
The information is out there; you just have to let it in."
