CCTV Camera, has multicoloured lines
Hi all,
i just installed a new outdoor CCTV camera and noticed it has multicoloured moving lines (see image) on certain parts of the picture.
I didnt notice this happening when i tested on the DVR inside but it wasn't positioned toward the things its facing now that it is installed.
Does anyone have any suggestions to what this may be or how to improve the image quality?
Thanks!

It looks like moire effect, which occurs with patterns of lines or dots that exceed the resolution of the sensor.
What's the resolution of the camera sensor?
(often happens even with still cameras with fine patterns on clothing)

What you're looking at there is called moire. It's an interference pattern that can result from a number of things ranging from actual induced electrical interference to poor quality image sensors and a range of other things in between. Given you've posted an image from a mobile app, it may even be so,etching directly associated with the compression imposed for transmission. Plug a montitor in directly to the DVR if you can and see if it changes. Also, try changing settings relating to image quality and see if that makes a difference, although that would typically only work on playback of recorded footage.

Thanks MTV and Drift, plugged a monitor into the DVR and the quality is fine so its obviously the IPDR app compressing the size.
Funny though as i plugged the camera into a cheap DVR off ebay and used its mobile app and the quality is fine, yet in the PACOM dvr with the IPDR app the image is poor quality.
Thanks heaps for your help
Good that's it's not the camera... or recording.
