Default Hills Reliance 128 forgot Mastercode

    Dear Expert,

We just bought a new house and it has Hills Reliance 128 security system installed. The old owners do not remember the master code or any code.

I have to configure my phone number to the device but i don't have the master code or program code to set it.

When i called some agency they said they will charge $200 for a technician to come and look into it. That is for 30 min and for every next 30min it is $50.

Then i started google and found some installation manual & user manual. In the installation manual they mentioned below

    To Loading Factory Defaults

Enter [9]-[7]-[1]-[3]-[0]-[0] within 10 seconds of power up at any code pad which is not programmed for
master mode. The procedure will default the Hills Reliance control panel even if it is armed

by doing above will it erase all the current programming? or will it only reset the master code and program code

Appreciate your time and thanks in advance

    Regards
    Sreem

That price seems quite reasonable for a tech to attend and do a code reset.

Do you have any wireless devices?

Have your system, home and family properly monitored by an ASIAL graded monitoring provider.

You will find the companies will almost certainly send a tech around for negligible charge if you take up monitoring (as they would need to attend in any case).

If you are not interested in having it professionally monitored you'd be better off simply turning it off at the powerpoint and/or disconnecting the battery, as it is little more than a useless noisemaker that may alienate neighbours and will do nothing to protect your assets.
