Yes I enjoyed that bit too. Not once but apparently twice rear-ended by Kvyat, Vettel will want to lynch him. Guess that was payback for his complaint in the last race.
Shame they put the wrong tyres on Ricciardo, so much for strategy, because 6th would have been otherwise likely with Vettel out and he could have kept at least 3rd in the standings. See what happens, not all over yet.

How de-tuned was Vettel in the Media Interview.
Boy, did his PR chick do a great job of soothing the beast.
Ted Kravitz comment was priceless... "Vettel might need to go see a Doctor after that interview..... he was biting his lip pretty hard"

Vettels 'performance' was the best part of this race
As said this is a track where the truth about engine performance is revealed. I expected the Renault engines to be weak here but that both Hondas were better than Renault/Redbull still managed surprise me.
At least Ricciardo still managed the highest position of all Renault 'powered' cars.
    Upgrades soon, well lets see

Vettels outburst and the uncomfortable silence when Putin was with Nico after the race.
Then Putins body guard far left of stage, what a brute.... um... all 7 of them.

I was a bit disappointed Hamilton didn't try spray Putin with Champagne...
I'm sure if he did, he would have been escorted through a special door when passing through customs at the airport.

Vettel was well within his rights to have a dummy spit on that, I would!!
Vettel must be itching to plant one on Kvyat.

That boy needs talking to, twice in less than half a lap; is he blind or stupid?

I'm still intrigued at Hamilton's team telling him he had a water pressure problem when he was 7.5 seconds behind Rosberg & catching at 0.5 seconds a lap, then when he'd dropped back, that the situation has resolved??
Things that make me go hmm!!

Small leak (hose clamp not quite tight enough for example) but under pressure will push out the coolant rapidly.
Keep it under boiling point (coast and the airflow should manage that) and it might just loose a few drops per minute or not leak at all. That way he could get the end of the race in second place rather than risking another engine change.

Well bugger me, Kvyat paid a high price for being a dick, demoted back to the satellite Toro Rosso team & Max Verstappen, the 18 year old, promoted to Redbull main team & aint he fast in his new Team & car, pushing Ricciardo to up his game a bit I think.

    Interesting interview with Max here;

Should make for an interesting race!!
    Tonight 10pm.

Max can get a bit hot headed too.
Those standings and Max right on Ricciardo's tail does look like an exciting race.
Hope the wobbly Kodi links hold up.

    Sensational !
    I have no other words.
Verstappen really earned that one as much as I would have liked to see Ricciardo win, this was the best race I have seen in ages.

    Yep, sensational race alright.
I feel a bit for Ricciardo... another flat tyre.

Great job from the 18 year old winner!!!!

    Mercs... bahahahaha.
Too many gold chains and hiphop music for the boy who thinks his shit dont stink.
Too cool for school is Hamilton.
Or was it a preoccupied Nico that wasnt paying attention on the racing line, while fiddling with car settings?
    Hard one to call.

So.... how do others see that accident?
    Who was at fault?

I think given that situation time and time again, nico would have left racing room

Rosberg didn't think he needed to make any space and Hamilton didn't think that it would be a good idea to brake behind a slowing car.
So both didn't think and therefore both were at fault.
Those were two negatives that multiplied to a positive

Redbull really seemed to have nailed it with their chassis, downforce, balance, etc, despite weaker engines.
I wonder even if two Redbulls piloted by Verstappen and Ricciardo in that same turn 4 situation would have managed, with one steering straight over that grass without any incident.
However I am sure that both would have THOUGHT that it would not be a good idea to let such a situation happen in the first place.

well I only got to watch the race this afternoon, great race, big congrats to the youngest ever F1 GP winner, well done Max,

yeah I think Nico should of left racing room, whether he would have is another thing, as he clearly didn't.
I liked the the analogy of the pit guy, 2 bulls in the one paddock it was bound to happen.
IMO closing doors is OK; slamming them shut is not!!
Nico learnt a valuable lesson, slamming the door shut on the driver behind can take you both out.
Lewis learnt a valuable lesson, never trust anybody, especially not your team mate??

Ricciardo not happy that the team strategy worked out of his favour, then a flat tyre, still managed 4th & still happy for Verstappen though.

Ironically Kyvat got fastest lap of the race in his demoted position in Toro Rosso; albeit in 10th place.

It all made for one very exciting race.

    Some interesting links below.

“The stewards decided it was a race incident, so we will accept that - we will leave it at that.
    Source:

    The stewards’ statement in full:

The incident concerned started when Car 6 dropped into an incorrect power mode, as set by the driver prior to the start. This created a significant power differential between Car 6 and Car 44 at the exit of Turn 3 coming onto the straight, resulting in as much as a 17kph speed difference between the two cars on the straight. Car 6 moved to the right to defend his position, as is his right under Art 27.7 of the Sporting regulations. Simultaneously Car 44 as the significantly faster car with, at that time, apparent space on the inside, moved to make the pass. Art 27.7 requires the leading driver to leave room, if there is a "significant portion" of the car attempting to pass alongside. Car 44 had a portion of his front wing inside Car 6 small fractions of a second prior to Car 44 having to leave the right side of the track to avoid an initial collision, which may have led him to believe he had the right to space on the right. Once on the grass on the side of the track Car 44 was no longer in control of the situation.
Having heard extensively from both drivers and from the team, the Stewards determined that Car 6 had the right to make the maneuver that he did and that Car 44’s attempt to overtake was reasonable, and that the convergence of events led neither driver to be wholly or predominantly at fault, and therefore take no further action.
