    Hi oceanboy,

searching whirlpool for any information concerning Android Boxes with TV tuner I have found your great thread. I started reading and soon realized that's it!
There are many pages to go through, which I intend to do, however, since the most reading is about 1 year old, I looked bit further here, towards the last page, to find how the story goes. To my surprise I have found that basically your thread doesn't continue much in this year. Also googling "U4 Quad Hybrid Android TV Box" doesn't give me much, almost nothing with the Aliexpres...
But I still believe that this U4Box is something I am looking for, or perhaps some latest stable version (U5?).
oceanboy, could you please let me know what is happening, should I continue pursuing it, or where to go?
    Thank you

Agreed ORIRUS, in a lot of ways, i like the U4 over the U5, it is just small, neat and does everything with minimal effort.
Can take it away with you
    Use it in the car/van/workshop/bedroom/lounge....
    Very simple and easy remote.

So you spend more time watching the content you want and enjoying a drink, than stuffing around with it.

Default U4 Quad Hybrid Android TV Box Unboxing and Teardown with DVB-T2, DVB-S2 and ATSC Tune

I am particularly green with using Android and not extremely technical, but I get by

I currently have a Vast box and an Intel NUC in my Van as we are travelling full time for the next year. I've only just come across this thread/machine and wondering how it handles satellite? Is this box capable of replacing a Vast box or would it mean replacing my current portable satellite dish for a completely different setup. Also is it only a single tuner? (One show recorded at a time) is there options to upgrade number of tuners?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

This box is only good for free-to-air unencrypted satellite channels. You would need a box that has a CAM slot (which this one doesn't) as well as a VAST CAM (very expensive).

if you want a kodi install go and install SPMC which is a variant specifically for android boxes which is more stable

I run that and if you want to load any builds they can be loaded under that as well.

Want any info youtube is full of it just search SPMC

    Thread revival.

Been a long time since I have had to touch my U4 quad but it finally fell over and I have had to do a factory reset. I have tried searching but for the life of me i cannot remember nor find out the port number I need to access the webif to reprogram cam settings.. ip address:9981 is for the channels list but what is the port number to get to the config files? Anyone?
