    Default Question for Admin . . .

Admin, have my picture posting/attaching and forum searching abilities been suspended?

Every time I try to search for a topic or older post (such as today for the "HUMAN GILLS" threat I started a few months back) I get an error that states I did not follow the search instructions correctly?

I've used search in the past a NUMBER of times and never had any problems!

Could you check and see why my SEARCH capabilities is non-functional and why I cannot attach pics to posts?

    thank you

    chris

Your account settings look fine from this end.
I have no idea why search is not working for you, it's fine for me:

Also the "Add image to post" rarely is available . . .

. . . for some reason today Murphy decided to allow it in this reply!

Have you tried a different browser?

Googling that error seems to indicate it has something to do with 'captchas' Austech doesn't use any kind of captchas that I'm aware of.

I would try clearing your cache/cookies for Austech and try again, working fine for me in IE/FF and Chrome

I would not use the Search Page, its hopeless, i searched for "MotoGP" in their once and got a recipe for "Pork Shoulder"

    Use the Google powered Search

Austech uses captchas in advanced search.

I assembled a basket of eggs (which reminded me to get some easter eggs for my younger son) and voila I found the Human gills threads.
I am also a total alien using Opera on a Mac.

If I need to use the captcha then I suspect so would cmangle. His browser may have javascript issues.
Captchas for Admins and premium users might be disabled as it would be fairly certain that they are not robots.

    I always use advanced search.

Austech has been using captchas for a few years now.

Nomeat's comment that "Captchas for Admins and premium users might be disabled as it would be fairly certain that they are not robots" sounds logical to me.

    Hi cmangle (chris),

option 1 Go into Addons and disable or remove NoScript then restart Firefox, then it will all work.

option 2 Work out the correct settings in NoScript to unblock Austech and it's extras. (Personally I would get rid of NoScript and replace it with Ublock or Blur)

I believe you are correct mickstv . . . Noscript was blocking the "add an image" option!

    I have never heard of/used Ublock or Blur . . . . I'll take a peek.

It didn't dawn on me until someone mentioned it here that Noscript might be the culprit for both of these problems. I assumed (DUH ??) that Noscript only dealt with spam ads etc.!
