Far out, that was big money back then nomeat, well done.
Sydney, pfft, inner Sydney it costs $300pw to rent 1 bedroom in a share house.
Why would you??
My cousin, is just finishing his 1st year as an apprentice plumber, on $1000 a week (adult agreement),
Just moved into his second house ($300K) and managed to keep his first house and is currently looking for a tenant for it.
At the same time has 2 kids under 2, 2 newish second hand cars
BUT, he did have to move 35minutes away from the rest of us
Lots of his mate are doing it the same.
I can tell you now, he is doing a LOT better than i was at his age.
All kids have to do now, is buy smart!
I mean, buy where they will not ever have to sell at a lose.
Generally that is in places were its not that popular yet and is still avoidable
I have been looking for the last 3 years and seriously in the last 12months at investment locations and have found places where you can buy a House and Land, cheaper than it would cost to build just the house.
I bet those struggling to buy now, can not say that about the locations they are looking in.

My daughter does exactly that. She just will NOT listen to me.
I told her to stay at home and save for a deposit, even for a small 1 bed unit, rent it out and neg gear it. Easy in my area.
I don't even think she is earning much more in Sydney CBD now anyway, because all she has achieved with her 27years of age is 20k credit card debt !!!

How did a Trump thread turn into housing costs in Oz?
Regardless, after Donald Trump intervened, Sherry Wilkins sings the US National Anthem at a Trump rally after television networks tell her there was no time!
Notice he knows where his heart is during the national anthem!

It looks like The Donald has now locked in the nomination...........1,238 Delegates against a required 1,237, with 303 more yet to vote:
Interesting times ahead for the American people.

With Obama, it's already been interesting times for the American people!
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

Yep, they said he couldnt do it and he proved them wrong.
Interestingly, Hilary Clinton copped a bucketing overnight in regards to her email scandal.
From today's Australian :
US presidential election 2016: email scandal could derail Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the White House has suffered a blow after an official report into her use of emails as secretary of state concluded that she breached government rules.
The state department’s inspector general found that she had not used an official email account and failed to consult about her use of a private server to send messages which could have been vulnerable to hacking or interception.
This is now how the nightmare scenario for the Democrats unfolds: Clinton wins the Californian primary comfortably next month, shaking off the insistent Bernie Sanders.
The victory allows her to go into July’s convention with the wind in her sails, adopting the air of a winner after a fierce primary contest.
With Mr Sanders vanquished, she appeals to his supporters to swallow their doubts and unite to save America from Donald Trump. The presidential campaign begins for real.
Then the FBI drops its bomb. In September the agency announces that it will indict her on charges of destroying classified government information.
Among 30,000 emails she said that she deleted from the private server that she used while secretary of state, agents have found classified communications. Not only should they not have been there in the first place, they should certainly not have been destroyed.
The charges are serious. They carry a jail term. The presidential race enters uncharted waters.
The wheels of justice do not turn quickly enough for a court to reach a verdict on Mrs Clinton by polling day in November or even inauguration day in January.
So Mrs Clinton and the Democrats face a question never before asked: can a candidate run for the White House and ask for the trust of voters with a prison sentence hanging over their head?
Whatever protestations might come from Camp Clinton, there can be only one answer. In which case, with time of the absolute essence, the party will have to drum up a substitute candidate almost overnight.
One contender would be her vice-presidential pick, whoever that might be, although there is no constitutional rule that places them a heartbeat away from the candidacy.
Another would be Mr Sanders, who at least took part in the primary process and can demonstrate a high level of support.
How might his army of supporters react if, after all those air miles and rallies on the campaign trail, he was denied the role?
Today’s polls suggest that Mr Sanders would beat Mr Trump in a head to head. If the question became real rather than hypothetical, that might change. For it to be tested, mayhem beckons.
Don't believe the polls, Sanders would NOT beat Trump . . .
Didn't I say/post a few times in the past Hillary WILL be indicted!
Sanders will NOT beat trump!
. . . and Vegemite will become the national snack food!
Donald Trump is now going to fix the California drought:
This, apparently is the culprit that has been causing all the problems:
It is understood that he intends to part the Red Sea next week.
Vale USA
. . . and if not he'll walk across the water on his way to feed the 500,000 homeless!
