This Forum is winning the slowest page load speed yesterday & today. Actually it's been a little tardy all week.

There is hardly any traffic on here; yet it fails to load properly in a reasonable time. Other forum I visit in the USA is fast as it should be???
    Cheers, Tiny

Maybe it's that satellite you connect through.
It always seems to be the same people who have speed issues.

I don't know if it is the sat BB or not; as sometimes it's as fast as expected, however when it goes slow all other sites are fine.

I wonder if mtv & tristen have satellite BB & are experiencing the same?

Have you tried a tracert when you get slowdowns?

    No satellite here.

NBN FTTN @ 200 metres distant and download connection speeds of 90 odd Mbps at most times.

Other websites, both within Australia and overseas, are O.K.

I haven't tried pings or tracert (yet).

No; as previously when I was having issues with this forum going slow, so were mtv & tristen so I assumed it was the forum.

I will check it out with a tracert next time it's going slow.

It's running fine today, so no point as I have a baseline tracert of this forum that I did for admin when I first hooked up to the SkyMuster sat.

One thing I have changed lately is to turn on TCP Time stamping as per a suggestion for getting SatBB to run smoother on a website
I wonder if that's affecting my speed, f@#k knows. Anyway as it's not the forum this time I'll sort my end.

Thanks for taking time to look into it.

Been good here on 3G Tiny
I will say though, it often hangs on a request for 3 or 4 seconds, but i honestly put that down to 3G issues.
If i am playing say a YouTube clip at the same time, Austech pages open fast, as i guess my connection is live instead of a possible idle status??

Im not sure on the facts, i just know that is how it happens for me

    Hope it helps mate.

OK: some experimenting today & it appears to be latest build of Firefox 48.0.2 is the culprit, side by side pages in Chrome & FireFox load like chalk & cheese.

Did this about a year ago & I switched to chrome until it bugged me about something & I went back to FF.
Browsers that slow your internet experience.

Getting delays loading pages at times... waiting on postimage.

This probably explains why attached pics are not showing, which some other members have mentioned in threads as well.

Pics are not appearing in posts, but can be viewed when clicking on the holder/icon.

Yep it has been a little slow at times lately especially with threads/posts with pics.

Also sometimes the Reply dialogue takes forever to load.

I can click on a Austech page, then 2 or 3 Aprilia Forum pages (also hosted in US), the Aprilia pages can be loaded read & replied to before the Austech page has finished loading all the peripheral data - pics & reply dialogue.

Funny thing is I use Postimage to insert large file size photos over at Aprilia as well, yet the pages load with pics very quickly?
    Cheers, Tiny

I had problems with the forum loading on Tuesday, 25 Oct 2016, but nothing major since then.

We have had a little more downtime than usual in the last 2 weeks, I received an email that our particular VPS (Virtual Private Server) will be getting an upgrade shortly.

I did also have a play with an ad banner space a couple of times in the last week which may have caused a gap in the main page (not for more that a few minutes)

The situation with Postimage is not good at all
Its a situation we faced ourselves, we simply could not afford to host our own images as we just dont have the money. So that why we use Postimage. I hope they can work something out, that is a serious amount of data though.
