    Default Web player for Aussie channels

    I've been working on a web-based player for Aussie and international streams. Works in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and I think IE 11+ at my end, but curious to know if anyone else has any success? It uses a new kind of Java-based HLS script and HTML5 video.

    You're a clever lad, Smacca.

    It works well in Firefox 46.01, Opera Developer 38 and Microsoft Edge.

    Thank you.

    Great code - it seems to me this would be great for demos to other users here . Do you have a copy of the code (less the current links/urls of course) we could use?

    Thanks mate, works good in Opera on Win machine. Wonder what the limitations are on Mac?

    Yeah mate. Super easy to integrate into any web application:

    Code:
    <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/hls.js/latest/hls.min.js"></script>
    <video id="video" width="1024" height="576" controls ></video>
    <script>
    	if(Hls.isSupported()) {
    		var video = document.getElementById('video');
    		var hls = new Hls();
    		hls.loadSource('http://some.source.here/playlist.m3u8');
    		hls.attachMedia(video);
    		hls.on(Hls.Events.MANIFEST_PARSED,function() {
    		  video.play();
    	});
     }
    </script>

    I'm not 100%
    But maybe it has something to do with the Java Support on a Mac?
    As the Java support comes within Chrome for a Mac, the other browsers therefore wouldn't have the same support, and would be relying on the machine system files.
    I had an older version of Opera, so i updated to the latest version and test results were still the same.

    But i have to say, the operation of your site using Chrome on the Mac is the best IPTV experience i've seen from ANY machine!
    Its loads so fast, its hard to imagine its a stream

    All tests were using a 12mb ADSL landline connection
    I'll try via 3G next

    Well Done Smacca, bloody brilliant effort

    I know what you mean. When I came across this script I couldn't believe my eyes. Every player I've used has some sort of issue with the 7 & 9 ones. There are still some streams that won't work - ABC News 24 is an RTMP stream so I guess support isn't there for that. But I also had issues with other seemingly normal HLS streams. Still, getting the 7 and 9 streams integrated into one single location was the goal.

    The repository states Safari should be fine but has a beta notation, so I'm not sure what that means. It also doesn't mention Opera but it works here for me, version 37.0 on Win 7 machine.

    Compatibility

    hls.js is compatible with browsers supporting MSE with 'video/MP4' inputs. as of today, it is supported on:

    Chrome for Android 34+
    Chrome for Desktop 34+
    Firefox for Android 41+
    Firefox for Desktop 42+
    IE11+ for Windows 8.1
    Safari for Mac 8+ (beta)
    I also found I had to make a modification to Firefox's settings. In about:config, change the media.mediastream.whitelist to "false" and you're all good.

    Fantastic job Smacca,

    works great,
    up and running like a charm,

    any streams that are added and not working I have found I needed to addon an extension for firefox and chrome, not tested IE
    Enable cross origin resource sharing

    IE 11 tested

    I tried on Chrome using a Samsung Tablet.

    It loaded and plays, but every thing is in slow motion.

    So I just gave it to the missus, its perfect for her.
